Both girls were sent on a mission and Kozue was the captain at the time. They didn't get along with each other although their teamwork is impressive. When they both touched the Red Phoenix Blade at the same time, the curse fuses them together into a purple-haired girl named Yura. They were rejected by both sides and even imprisoned by the queen who doesn't believe their story.
