Shinra's Technology at its Finest...
9/11Memory
Yes, we all recall 9/11...but some of you may ask, "Trinity-chan, why are you doing a memory? Nobody you knew died."

True, true...but that doesn't mean it didn't have an impact on me.

It took a while for the situation to sink in. I first heard it on the bus. A plane hit a building in New York. My thoughts were "Ummm...kay?"
There was no discussion about it in class, so I forgot it for the moment.

I returned home to my father in the afternoon. He was watching the news, so I was like, "I heard a plane hit something in New York."

He said, "Two hit the World Trade Centers, one hit the Pentagon and another crashed in Pennsylvania" He informed me as they replayed the crashes into the large skyscrapers over and over again. Tears welled up in my eyes and I felt sick. I couldn't watch it anymore.

After a few days, I thought it was over. There would be clean up and searches, but nothing that would impact me, a Minnesotan. How wrong I was...

Because it was an act of war, many soldiers were getting activated. My dad was a soldier and I feared the worst. Overseas...

Fortunately, that was not the case. My dad was activated, but he merely had to go to Wisconsin to train those who were going to fight. We were blessed, but it still wasn't perfect. Dad was gone for nearly a year before he came home for a month break. Then he left for another year, only coming home on long weekends or holidays. I missed him, my family missed him.

Five years later, he is still training soldiers, but right now he's in Texas. He's taking classes so his chances of becoming Sgt. Major are higher for the next 9 months. I still miss him.
