As most people probably realize, tomorrow, Monday, is the 5th anniversary of September 11th.
This was a terrible time in our nation's history, and a time that needs to be remembered, lest we forget and it happens all over again. Because on that day five years ago, we as America actually united. Everyone stood together to make it through that terrible time, but as time progressed, we grew apart once again.
Now, we have the conspiracy theorists, who say that 9/11 was thought up by the government, or worse yet, that it didn't really happen.
Then, we have the Anti-American people, who are just asses in my opinion. I can't even coheriently think of what they do, but I know I was reading posts today, and they were annoying me, blaming 9-11 on Bush, and making sarcastic refrences to the event and to him. I don't really care if you hate Bush or love him, but don't scorn an event that changed the world just because he can be an a*****e.
And yes, like it or not, 9/11 did change the world. There's now a war, our freedoms ARE being limited, people are paranoid about traveling by plane, and a whole lot of other s**t that everyone should notice.
But what's really getting to me are the people making fun of it. There is nothing funny about an attack on any country. There is nothing funny about innocent people dying because someone hates the country they are fun. There is nothing funny about it, so there is no need to make jokes.
And the other thing that's getting to me: "Oh, it was so long ago." Um, no, it wasn't. It was 5 years ago. Five years is NOT that long ago. "I don't want to be reminded of it, it's so depressing, they need to move on." Again, um, no. Admitedly, we don't need to dwell in the past, but we also can't just forget about it and move on. If we do, history repeats itself, and it will happen again, and again, we won't be prepared for it.And next time, it'll probably be worse.
So, yeah. I'm just a little ticked.
