Episode 14: That Same Old Face
One week after Kero's emotional confrintation with Sanders. Kero and crew stoped by another town to rest. It was a carefree and lively small city. There waren't any RD soldiers around so for the first time in so long; Kero can feel more at ease and enjoy life for once, but doe's not take advantage of it. Morris is in a happier than normal mood drinking so carefree. Tier and Kat we're drinking much much ligther stuff than Morris, and get lovey dovey at each other kissing and hugging each other tight. Kero is just sitting there deep in thought. He is concerned more about finding Serene than living it up. From a distant Kero notices an old face. It was Huro still alive and just sittin there drinking. Keros eyes opened wider and approached Huro. He gave him a happy greeting, and Huro smiled back saying "Wow, its been a while! Nice to see ya again."
"So how did you manage to get out of the tunnel. I thought you was dead." Huro laughed and told Kero "I got my tricks, and don't forget I am a weapon merchant." "So wheres you bag of weapons than?" "It's heavy so I left it in my room." They both laughed in enjoyment and Huro gave Kero a piece of paper. "Meet me later late at night. The location is on this piece of paper. I want to talk to you more, but I gotta go. Cya tonight Kero!" Kero smiled gently and waved bye to Huro. Morris overheard and told Kero "Just don't do something stupid this time." and laughed. Kero did nothing about, and went to his room feeling bitter for Morris's remark. Together Tier and Kat went to their room since they share. Morris just sit there being a drunk and a free spirit.
Later at night; Kero steped outside. It's still fairly lively outside, and Kero followed the direcitons of the paper and winds up in a remote part of the town. It was filled with banners to block the way, but Kero went right through it. In the area, there is no one and there are no lights. All the buildings look liek they are burned, and there is alot of rubble in the ground. Alone sits Huro in the rumble and seriously looked at Kero saying "Thanks for coming." Kero feeling calm asked "So what do want to talk to me about?" "I'm tired of playing games. I want a piece of you myself." Kuro spoke in a very different and younger tone. "I miss you so much.." and thank Huro peeled of his mask and took off his clothes having more clothing underneath discovering it was Haus; another Red Dreamers elite. I was ordered to let others kill you before last time we met in this tunnel, but there are no other soldiers in this area, so your all mine!" With a knife; Haus dashed and striked Kero so fast, leaving him a cut in the cheek.
Fortunately Kero brought his weapons since he's always prepared for the worst. Kero with his agility swinged his blade around, but Haus have a very thin, and a very flexable body. Haus doe's knife throws left and right, and also juggles around his movement in order to confuse Kero. Every shot Kero made was easily evaded like it was nothing to Haus. Shortly after; Kero was running out of breath. Kero chuckled trying to be witty saying "Heh, I forgot how fast you we're Haus, since it's been so ....." and suddenly for the mere seconds Haus was behind his back with two knifes close to Kero's throat. "Talking can kill you." and Kero moved one of his legs back tries to kick him in the nuts, but Haus jumped up wrapping his legs around Kero's waist and immediately cut his throat, but Kero moved back so the cut wasen't deep. Kero fell to his knees cuahing up some blood breathing hard. Haus looked around the scenery than looked down at Kero. "Why can't the world just be like where we are now. Dead and old." "Are you still whining about how you lost your family Haus?" Haus became angry and threw a knife at him, but Kero rolled back barely dodging it. Haus looked at Kero with menacing eyes telling him to "Shut up!!! You have no right to say that" and suddenly Haus began to have a headache fighting his mind rather than Kero. Kero is still weak and catching up his breath.
I still remember the torment I dealt with before. My family and I we're performers traveling the lands. We specialized in disguises and had some popularity. The payment we earned to make a living was decent, but what's important was to entertain others. One town we stoped at hated us, and became a riot during the performance. My parents and the rest of the crew got killed by the angry audience. I manage to escape, but was in tears. From a distance I peeked and they all laughed at those who died. I don't know why. All we wanted to do was entertain them. Since than; I wandered the lands alone treated like crap, and was picked on lots of times to any place I go. The last time I was picked on; Red Dreamers saved me and told me how they are fighting to cleanse humanity. I followed them since I wanted to join and be strong like them. They accepted and I trained hard becoming strong like this.
As Haus was struggling with his mind; Kero shot him in the upper part of the chest close to his neck. Haus came back to his senses, but shocked.Kero was standing back to normal appearently and told him "Snap out of it you freak." Haus became furious at Kero and lashed out at Kero with his knives and his acrobatic moment. He is still unpredicable so Kero winds up having a few scrathes. Kero had the chance to kill Haus, but still has some honor. If his enemies have to die, than do it with a fair fight. He has no intention to be extremely cold hearted like Jecht. Occasionaly Haus paused being parazlyed for a second, and thats when Kero strikes. It is becoming a stalemate.
