A Poem By Me
Here's a poem i wrote a while ago:
Memories Lost
An apple on a tree
a swing where children played for fun,
a banner flying free,
small raindrops glistning in the sun,
And when the birds sing true,
you feel like they sing just for you
small flowers in the dew
And buds on trees spring up brand new
A mem'ry here, a lost thought there
they disappear, no longer here
say goodbye to sad times, glad times,
good times, bad times
empty times and full times
for the past is what was,
and the present is what is
The future is what will be.
What's gone is gone,
But not forgotten.
A cold lake warmed by light
A baby bird takes it's first flight
A tiger's strength and might
stealthily creeping through the night
A mountain cave up high
where dragons rest before they fly
the place where lizards lie
while looking up into the sky
what happened then is in the past
where do memories no longer last?
say farewell to past times
last times, first times,
lazy times, and hurried times.
for the past is gone
and the present is now
What's over is over
But not forgotten
