Better Than (Note that I'm replacing my real name with my computer name)
Rivalry, It’s when a person you met one day becomes a nuisance, you get jealous of his superior abilities compared to yours. In area fourteen eleven, (A.K.A The Orchestra room) a seventh grader named Zaruru had been arguing on and on against his arch nemesis Joe. Joe is a transfer student from a place called St.Louis; he had just come in Zaru week ago. “See Zaruru! This is why no one likes you!” Joe shouted in front of my ear. “What did I do now?” I asked him. “Stop eating your scroll!” Joe commanded. I don’t know why anyone sees him as a good guy. Let me tell you when it all started, but beware of the truth.
It was a day like any other day in Zaru Middle School. The busses are late, the musicians put up their instruments, and the athletes ran at what seems to be the speed of light. Then suddenly lightning strikes as a tall figure casts its shadow among the hallway. “Hi!” I welcomed the new student. “Don’t talk to me!” He quickly reacted. At that moment I figured he’s the kind of guy that thinks he’s better than everyone else. So everyday I ignored him until I couldn’t hold it any longer! In just days he accomplished what I’ve been doing for years. I can’t stand being so out ranked, out skilled, out matched in almost everything! So one day in my lair I devised a plan only an evil genius would think of!
The following day I mimicked Joe’s actions, I did everything he did to see what made him so special. After a while I realized I wasn’t being myself. Things changed, my teachers congratulated me, my friends acted weird (more than their normal weird level), and worst of all, my grades rose from a B- to an A average! I was horrified to find out I was mutating into a gross, creepy, math loving nerd! (No offence) I thought there was no turning back, so I tried to save my so-called reputation!
I learned many lessons that day, but the most important one is never wear a St.Louis Cardinals jersey in the eighth grade hall way unless you have a death wish.(Cardinals are our rivals, baseball) Oh! Also, no one is better at being you! That’s what makes you special. (I hate these cheesy endings)
