The light shone brightl through Ren's window as she started to wake up. Today was her pre-birthday to being fourteen and sshe was very excited. Ren slowly trudged to the kitchen to see what smelt so good. it was her father who was up making her favorite, the cheese omelette. As she shuffled in her dad turned around, "Oh Ren, im glad you got up early, other wise i'd have to eat this delicious omelette i made." she looked suspiciously at him.

"Is there a catch somewhere in this?" Ren said staring deeply in her dad's eyes.

He looked down, but smiled, "Excuse me? is there a problem with celebrating my only daughters last day of being thirteen?" She rolled her eyes and sat down at the table.

As her dad lay the food in front of her, he looked severly saddened and Ren knew immediatly something was wrong. "Dad whats wrong? And dont you say nothing because your never this sad unless something bad has happened." She paused for a moment.

"Whats wrong?" Once again he looked down, but didnt smile.

"Ren...I..." He stopped thinking, then smiled when an idea popped up.

"im just wondering if i should give you a present early." Ren stopped eating and dropped her fork.

"Are you serious?! What is it, what is it?!" He just chuckled as he turned so his back was facing her.

Ren's heart was beating fast, wondering if she would finally get the stuff she so despretly wanted. He spun around to face her, while he was holding a small jewlery box. "here, i hope you like it." She took it gratfully, wondering what it could be.

She opened it and inside was a beautiful ring with a purple amythest attached to it. Ren gasped "It's beautiful, thank you." She got up and gave him a big hug.

She slipped it onto her ring finger and brought her hand up to look at it. smiling she finished her omelette and put away the dishes. then she ran to her mom to show off her new ring. she found her weeding the flower garden and taking a small break to wipe the sweat from her brow. "Mom! mom!" she jumped as Ren yelled out to her.

Her mom faced Ren looking a little confused at why she was yelling so frantically. she then saw her pointing at her hand and smiling, understanding completly. "I see Dad decided to give you that ring he was constantly bothering about last night." Ren looked at her.
