As I have just come back from my Philosophy class, my prof always leaves me to the point were which I feel I could go insane. We just finished talking about Machiavelli, his book The Prince when anyone is reading anything about this you really have to look at the book in a critical eye. Not just reading it like a comic book. BUT when you read it in a critical eye, you dont know wheather you want to hit him, or just hide in a corner for what he is saying.

We all know about the corruption of the Catholic church through time and even with the government today. Well when Mach is talking he is saying that these people are strong people because they want power and they will do anything to take it. That it is not by fortune they get anywhere in life it is by Virtue Or but taking. BY taking and that makes them good rulers? But we normal people would more likely think, how these people get power. IE the Catholic church by the money they take from people. AND In medevial times they killed people to get them to shut the hell up about church IS WRONG!! MACH SAYS YOU ARE WEAK IF YOU DONT TAKE POWER, EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING BAD. THE ones that do bad things get farther in life, MY GOD. Mach says If you are going to go through life believing in fortune then you are weak. If you believe that it was bad luck about failing a test, THEN you are weak. If you did not own up to it and said to yourself. "ohhh that is my fault I didnt study hard enough." then you are strong. But the people who believe that things just happen they way they do then you are weak. The ones that are strong take what they want from life and take it a step farther and go for power.

It is so hard just to listen to all this. Mach speaks of the romans as they were all seeing and understood the cause and effect of things. I questioned that, cause Julius Cerser WHO was killed by Brutus and "friends" of his political party did not see that coming, people warned him about it but he always said "Brutus is like a son to me he would never strike me" BOY was he wrong!!! he was stabbed to death for god sakes.

But what Mach says to that is that it is his own stupidity that brought that to him. He was soo powerful. He has a great army and soo much money, but he did not watch the people under him. AND Brutus hated him for what he did to his mother. Since Julius had an Affair with her then left her and breaking her heart. SOO he didnt see this and it was more or less his down fall. And people did like him because he was taking so much and not letting them have a say in it. SO they killed a very powerful man.

What I hate is that Mach is right, he is right! That people today do not think about who is being voted into power. AND THAT all the people in politics today dont give a s**t about anyone. WE people are to follow the law and vote, and if we dont vote then we really dont do anything at all. I am not trying to say this as a battle to anyone, it is all what Machiavelli leaves you with. And when you think about it, if you went with what Socrates said about being Just to yourself then you are weak. Cause you dont take anything from life you just let others kick you around, because the Pope only became pope because he is a criminal and he can take from the people. (People dont attack me on this this is not my words it is my Philosophy teachers and Mach him self) and if you wanted to read it for yourself. Read The Prince by him and you will understand what I mean and understand why I am left with such questions. Mine are:

Am I actually doing what I think is right? Or am I just following what I am told?

To be a ruler in anything do you really have to be so cruel?

Is there any hope at all for this world. For if we follow the words of Socrates would we ever get rid of this notion of power?

WE can never get rid of this notion of power because the people who control our governement today make it all about money and there is nothing we can really do to get away from it. We need money to live and we need money to do anything or be powerful in life, SO the more money these people have and the more control they have over us. IT IS JUST FREAKY think about it! Do you really think for yourself?? Or is it all just what you were planned to do. Since you were a child you were put in school and you were told to do as you were taught the difference between right and wrong. Its nutts just nutts. I SUGGEST that anyone read the Prince or if you are thinking about taking philosophy DO IT Cause for god sakes even though it leaves me a wreck after. I am always left questing myself as an individual.
