Her Beating Heart

Her heart beats with his
His heart never beat with hers
She was a special girl
And nobody understood
Why she loved him
When clearly he didn't love her
She would watch him constantly
Her affection growing
But he just brushed her off
Never knowing what he was doing
She didn't cry
She didn't give up
She knew she was meant to be with him
So each waking moment
Her thoughts were of him
He never understood
How she could love so much
And when he asked her why
She replied with a simple smile
As long as my heart beats
My love for you grows
Little do you know
That you and I were meant to be
I don't care how long it takes
I just want you to finally realize
That the girl of your dreams
Has always been in me
She walked away with that same smile
And he just couldn't figure it out
The next day he walked up to her
And she smiled at him
I see you came to me
I will never love you
He screamed at her
She wiped the smile from her face
And she turned glum
She ran off
With tears streaming down her face
She locked herself in her room
And refused to come out
Her mother pleaded
Her father asked
She simply said
My heart is broken
He didn't understand
Now it's his fault

If only he'd given my love a chance
The boy went to her house
And when her mother answered
She sent him to her door
He knocked and she sighed
I said he never understand
So I no longer love
I no longer feel
So leave me to die
There was a faint scream
He busted the door opened and saw
The cuts and finally saw the knife
Sticking out of her heart
He pulled it out and cried into it
He put it down and hugged her
Her beating heart stopped
No longer is he loved
What he once dreamed of
Was now gone
He really did love her
But never said it to her
