I must admit, I have very slowly, become a fan of this sport.
Barbarian yawlp aside, I was introduced to UFC over 10 years ago, in the times of the true mixed of the mixed martial arts, when karate man, "hey-yah!" became pretzeled and torqued in the clutches of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu kings.
Over time, I grew bored and apathetic as the sport seemed to regress into hour long matches with two grown men rolling on the ground and seemingly getting nowhere.
Lately, though, I have learned more about the technique, and the matches are contolled, and thus they become more interesting and exciting. UFC has evolved.
So now, yes, I am a fan. I cheer for PM in his matches, and I must say that I will have an amazing time tonight in a noisy, man-filled bar, watching Matt Hughes (hopefully) learn something good from the man he should bow down to, George St. Pierre. Go Canada!
And for the violence? Well, the one time I saw a cut that poured like a tap and they didn't stop the match because he could still see. That bothered me, more because it was really gory. But the more one learns about technique, the more this sport can be seen as at least one of the more chess-like, strategic fighting sports out there...at least compared to boxing or WWF. So, I guess I have to conclude that the technique involves me enough to get past the violence and begin to yawlp myself.
Go, St. Pierre! Ugh Ugh Ugh!!!

I also appreciate everyones opinion on violence and the ways it is displayed so I won't argue till I'm blue whether watching a man bleed for anothers amusement is right.
So in closing, I have nothing to say but have a good time.
