Thought Balloons and Cotton Swabs
Bad news from around the world and tales of redemption.
Everyone's Waiting
Sometimes my feelings get the best of me. Other times my needs get the best of me. This time, it was both at once. So, ever since Six Feet Under premiered, I watched the first season and it really tugged at my heart strings. Unfortunately I missed the premiere of the second season (however long ago that was) so I started renting the DVDs from Blockbuster and watched up to the middle of the third season with my parents. Then all of a sudden we just kind of stopped watching it; life got in the way and we just randomly took a break from watching it.

Well, the series finale has come and gone and I had heard that the final five minutes of it were an extrodinary musical piece put together so well that it raised the bar far to high for any other primetime series' to compete. But, I was planning on picking up at the second half of the third season and watch the rest all the way up to the series finale. To keep myself at bay, I downloaded the song that went with the visuals, and I have had it on repeat ever since I first listened to it. But that wasn't enough.

Like I said, though, my feelings and needs got to me and I just had to watch it. So I went onto YouTube and found it, but hesitantly hovered the cursor over the link. Without regrets and the thought that I'll have no idea what had happened over the course of two-and-a-half seasons, why not watch it?

Click.

...Nothing but tears and whispers ecsaped from me. Now I can't listen to this song without crying. Six Feet Under was a series that just seemed like it was in it's own playing field; nothing could compare to it. I don't know what it was that Alan Ball put into this series, but whatever it is, it made Six Feet Under untouchable.

If you want to know what the song is, it's called "Breathe Me" by Sia. You can also find the six minute video on YouTube by searching for "Six Feet Under Breathe Me" and it'll be the first one to come up.

Six Feet Under just gives me a feeling that nothing else ever has. It's not the feeling of remorse or regret, it's more of an appreciative feeling. Appreciate the life you have and live it well, because you never know when your time is going to come. That kind of feeling. It's deep and difficult to put words to. It's indescribable.

It's... untouchable.
