Celsie's Journal
Celsie has a life, and here it is, for friends or visitors to read.
Raishuu desu ka?
Second week. I'm in shock! I've done all my homework(except for one reading exercise), gone to every class, and turned in seven stories for Lidia. Yes, Lidia. Lidia Yuknavitch. She is a writer, she rocks, and she is reading my stories and either loving them or laughing at them. If she says she has potential and they sell her stuff at borders and powells, I have potential. So hush.
I'm also back to being an ADEPT junkie. They've got work to me. Mother's frightening me with "ten dollars an hour" quotes. So if I were to work 20 hours a week, multiply that by four, I would have...*thinks* 2, 4, 6, 8. wait. I did that wrong. sweatdrop This is why using dice and using factors to come up with fun japanese numbers last night was so funny. I know the Japanese numbers, I don't know the math. Also! Three guys have my phone number now. I'm faintly worried and faintly not caring. Back to this math. ten times twenty is...two hundred. so eight hundred dollars in one month. That's about the maximum I could do, if I did five hours every day, monday through friday. Well, actually, it would be Tuesday through Saturday as I have no spare time on Mondays. I have time to wake up, bathe, go to school for twelve hours, come home, check email, fall asleep. That's my mondays. Unless I miraculously get to take the laptop to school and find an internet access port, both of which are not likely, Mondays are screwed.
So. Yes. Let's go back and say 5 hours a week. I think I can manage ten, but let's just say five. Five times ten is fifty. Fifty times four is two hundred. Two hundred a month. Meaning ten is four hundred a month. Not too shabby, but still. Do you think I can manage twenty a week? That would mean this computer would need to stay off at all times, except when homework is needed, which could theoretically be done on the work device, so long as no email was checked. I would work extensively on weekends, and...hmm. Okay. So. Every other day of the week, I could work from seven to...eleven, let's say. Four hours. Times six. 2...40? I think. So then, on Saturdays, I could work in an extra noon to three shift. So, thirty. And then sundays, I could do the same. sixty plus two forty is three hundred. Times four. ....a grand? I have my numbers wrong, I'm sure of it. Plus another on Fridays. So...two forty, thirty, thirty, thirty. Three thirty times four. I'm still coming up with over a grand. 4 hours times six. 24 hours. plus nine. thirty three hours a week. sheesh, that's full time. over time, even. 1320, calculator says. In four months, $5280. And that's if dad's not pulling a fast one on mom and saying it's ten dollars when it's really more.

So what is new? I've decided Trapped will be the first story I send around to attempt to get published. Part of it is I want to send him a copy of it, since I won't need ten contributor's copies, and part of it is that it's the most compelling piece. Bleeding Ear Piece needs a bit of work, but it will probably follow trapped up. I'm also thinking of renaming it "He Must Not Come." It's the theme of the story, repeated in key places. I don't know. And as I plan on publishing it, it will not go online until it is published. Do we have an understanding of this? Most likely not, but that's all right.

Time to shush. jaa mata.
