Gaia...You win some, you lose some. |

The name...It draws people in a world full of unheard of possibilities... yet - take a look around and see what it's doing to ourselves...especially yourself.
Gaia is a wonderful and thriving place, new members joining every single second...but somehow no matter how I look at it -- it has gotten boring. I overlook high priced items wondering how in the hell I can gather that much gold.
Stay and post, people say - but every time you post, the gold number goes down. I understand the economic flow of Gaia, but sometimes it is frustrating to the common player such as myself. Never ever seems the same anymore.
Everyone is practically greedy, grabbing what they can and the new players have no respect for the other players who have been playing here a long time. Even if a bunch of new Gaia people flood in, only a good handful of them is bound to do good things for Gaia itself and the people who have been here.
I have not even been here a year and yet, as a character on here - I have met some pretty amazing people and yet some pretty rude people as well.
Don't people get how Gaia is suppose to be running? I don't even know why I joined...possibly because I was curious since almost all of my online friends had been joining.
But don't think that this is just me ranting on randomly about things, Gaia can also be a serious habit and very addicting just like a regular video game. It amazes, no...shocks me how long people can play Gaia and get something out of it. What do they do all day long? Buy, sell, trade... buy, sell, trade... Talk, chat, meet new friends...Play games. This is apart of what Gaia is about, but for some it is a serious world that is their mental escape.
I did use Gaia as a mental escape once and decided to leave, without telling a soul. You know...turned out -- barely no one cared except a few people which I will not mention. This is my first ever diary entry, pretty amazing huh? I should really think not, these are just my thoughts written down on a blog in Gaia.
But...Gaia is also a place that I can hang out at - but not to the point where I will be on it hours at a time. Some people now will do anything to gain an item. Bribe, lie their way into things, black mail...do you not see what the items are doing to us all?
No offense to Gaia, but without the items we are nothing but a chat forum with games -- that's it. The items are what makes Gaia as a whole. Yet people take the items way out of proportion.... They are digital, they are not real.
Yet for some people like I have seen on e-bay are selling their collective items like the Angelic Scarf and many rare items selling up to nearly 70.00 to 100.00 over the internet. The real truth behind Gaia....the items are what makes this site running and without our frequent donations this once little site would cease to exsist.
I am writing this as a concerned Gaia member, many of you may just toss my entry off to the side, but think it over...
