Dear friend,
Life it seems is a series of ups and downs as well as twists and turns and not just a straight path we all enjoy to travel along. To travel on a straight highway, one can readily see what lies ahead and even beyond. But to walk on a winding, one has to guess the many surprises – good or bad that lay in waiting at every turn.
I thank you for the many wonderful memories we have shared together in our life’s journey as friends. The roads we have traveled may not be always paved or smooth. Sometimes they were strewn with thorns or even with rocks that hurt our feet. But somehow, we were able to overcome the pains and hurts that allow us to continue to walk together.
Our little disagreements and conflict of ideas made us realize that each of us is unique and created differently by God. Such realization enabled us to appreciate the beauty and goodness of another despite the differences.
Thank you very much for extending a helping hand when I am about to fall; for guiding me back when I stray from the road; for waiting when I fall behind; for giving me a lift when I am too tired to walk. Thank you for cheering me up when the day seems gloomy; for telling jokes to make me laugh when the going gets tough; for diving me a push when I hesitate; for patting my back when I do something good; for pinching my side when I do something naughty or bad.
Thank you for sharing your bright ideas when my mind doesn’t work; for lending me you ear when I need someone to listen to my story; for standing up for me when there were too many enemies that surround me.
Thank you for being patient when I ask you to wait; for pointing out my mistakes even if it means hurting me for my own good; for giving me space when I need to be alone; for being there when I need someone to talk to; for trusting me with your little secrets and for keeping mine; for standing beside me when others have turned their backs and for being there when it matter most.
For all the fond memories that gave us something to remember and the pains that made our friendship stronger, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Most of all, I thank God for giving me a true friend in you.
