I recently cams across a topic I feel strongly for and posted a comment that I really like, and so I post it here for you to see.

I learned long ago that if I EVER talked back or was disrespectful to my parents in ANY way, some form of harsh punishment would be the only thing coming. I always respect my parents, and I truly believe that children would be better off if adults would take responsibility and actually punish their kids. Grounding does NOT work nor does taking things from kids, grounding only lasts so long and even if it's lasts the whole way threw (which is rare, parents can't handle them in the house that long) the kids get more and more angry and disrespectful and tend to be worse the next time, a good hard smack across the a** would teach them, I don't mean 20 repeated hits with a large blunt object, One (1) good hit and that’s all, and most children will understand.

Now a days the level of respect I see from children in my age group is disgusting. Not to long ago I heard a girl talk about how she got caught shoplifting, they were suing her $500, and she was complaining and calling her mother a b***h, because her mother wouldn't pay it for her. If I, on the other, were to be caught shoplifting... my parents would take my money and kick me out.

And so I conclude this rant (that I feel very strongly about) by saying, child abuse is bad, but a spanking is not.
