A Family Life
It’s Late at night She sits on the floor A cigarette in one hand empty glass bottle in the other The marks on her arm fresh from her addiction
Two little girls play way past their bedtime One is 6 the other is 7 and the oldest Locked away in her room
The boyfriend comes stumbling in Angered by the little ones play Its time to repeat last night
He starts to break things whatever is in his path Yelling as he goes along The little girls are now frightened hiding in the corned
Picking the mother up he hits her Sending her back down to the floor
Minutes go by like hours as he hits her more and more The sweet sound of sirens are now echoing in the distance They finally arrive to a bruised and broken home
Everyone is taken Him to a jail cell her to a hospital But what of the little girls?
A foster home awaits them early the next day A month goes by and legal papers are finally signed
The boyfriend is in jail paying for his violent ways The mother is in rehab ridding herself of all the drugs
And the three little girls They are finally sent home Back to their fathers loving arms
