"Band! What an event!" i said sarcastically to Lori. "What does he want us to do now? Stand on our heads and play?"
"Seems like it," she answered. "why do we have to come out here during the summer anyway? why can't just the freshman come? they're the ones who don't know how to march!"
"i know! this is rediculous!"
then the band director walked up to us. "got something you want to share?"
"no." we answered together.
"please quit entertaining your neighbors." and he walked away.
"what the hell does that mean anyway?" i asked Lori, quieter this time. "what does he think we're doing over here? 'entertaining your neighbor.' gosh he's dirty sometimies!" Lori giggled at me. "'Miss Gray, stop entertaining your neighbors. Blow more air. Put your hand in the horn properly. Toe heel, not heel toe. Quit talking, and get ready to play," i mimicked. i noticed Lori had stopped laughing a couple seconds ago. "what now?" i asked her, but i got my answer a little sooner than i thought, and it wasn't from her.
"Miss Gray, do you think this is funny? Is this all fun and games for you? Quit being silly or go home!"
