The adventures of Ariana
A story about one of my rp characters from D&D ;)
The birth of Ariana
The story begins on a stormy day in the elven kingdom of Ellestaire, most of the elves in the kingdom were rejoicing, for this was a great day, the day the heir to the throne would be born. Through all the thunder and the lightening the earth was flowering and soon would blossom, you could hear the trees revelling while lapping up the rain, the flowers rejoicing, the grass full of excitement, the woods were alive! There would soon be a new prince to rule the kingdom if anything unfortunate were to happen to their good king Allesto. This was a happy day, even the birds and the animals of the woods were rejoicing.
As a great cry rang out thunder and lightening spilled through the sky. It was foretold on a stormy day such as this that a great heir to the throne of Ellestaire would be born, one who would save them from approaching wars between the humans, the half elves, and the dwarves. It was coming. To the outside world it did not look it, all was peaceful, perhaps if they knew that there would be a great war trying to tear apart the nations they may not be peaceful and partying on always drunk in their tankards. But the elves and elven lands knew it was approaching, never one to get in anyones affairs and keeping to themselves they couldn't understand why they would need protection from the impending doom. They had easily stayed out of affairs for thousands of years. Anyone approaching their woods would simply disappear, never to be seen again. No race had ever made it into their territory and came back out to tell about it. Theirs was a proud and peaceful nation, maybe too proud, but not as peaceful as they would have liked to think. For on this very day, Rohar the dark elf was plotting against his king, the very name Rohar meant evil, pure evil. As the son of the hated dark elf Rovene, he carried his fathers same hatred of the king, even more so than his own father. Banished to the farthest reaches of the dark woods their hatred grew and festered. They devised new magiks that those "peaceful" elves couldn't possibly imagine. They were elves that delved in magik between the living and the dead. Putrid fumes hung about the dark woods making them darker than they had been in 10,000 years. Rohar laughed and the most gruesome sound came from his mouth, one would wonder if it was really a laugh at all. His sister was in the castle, and before those ignorant elves knew what was happening she would kill their beloved hope, the newborn child and heir to the throne. Rohar thought today is a good day, and that evil sound came out of his mouth again as the fumes rose higher from the dark woods to hover over the trees and look on to the kings' castle. It is here Rohar thought as the great cry could be heard all through Ellestaire, the child is born.
All that could be heard in the castle was the great cry of the queen Javina and then the sounds of a newborn crying as it took its first breath.
"This can't be!"
"What? What is it? I hear the baby crying, all is well? Is it not?" The queens worried voice cried out.
King Allesto laughed a hearty laugh. "Yes, all is well my dear Javina, I don't think this one will be the king though, it is a girl!"
Javina laughed, it was a tinkling sound complimenting the kings' hearty laugh, "a girl!"
The nurse maid placed the wide green eyed elven newborn in her mothers arms. "Well," Javina said, "we did not expect a girl, what shall we name her? I guess the prophecy will have to wait until our next child!" Another tinkling laugh sprang forth.
"We shall name her Ariana, which means most pure, how does that sound my dear?" The king said with another boom of laughter.
"Yes," said the queen, "that is beautiful! Just like our daughter!" So, on that day, the first day of blossoming, Ariana was born.

You are an excellent writer and it is truly shameful that there is no more to the story posted in your journal. I really enjoyed reading of Ariana.
