Tragedy at Schools with Mixed Reviews
My French teacher was out the past two days because she had a miscarriage. Everyone at school who knows her or who have heard about her situation is mourning over the fact that this would have been Monsieur and Madame's first son, and all day I've been thinking about how I can help, so I started an art project thats getting polar mixed reviews.

She was in her third trimester and an ultrasound proved the baby to be dead. She had to be drug induced to birth the baby, sign the birth certificate, name him, and then sign the death certificate. They now have to plan for the funeral and everything. What hurts the most is that the couple had everything planned out for the baby and had little outfits and utensils for him to eat from. Its just so sad when something so precious is taken away so suddenly. And its not fair, because they totally deserve that baby. I don't know how it died yet... but its still so upsetting.

Earlier I drew a picture for them during my class period for French while everyone else worked on things to send to her. The drawing was of two hands clasped in a friendly sort of way and wrote on it, "Nous sommes ici pour les deux, toujour!" (We are here for you both, always." and people really liked that drawing, but its the painting that everyone is kinda iffy on.

The painting design was inspired from a story that our guest choir director told us at choir Regionals before we went on stage and sang. It was about one of his grandchildren who was in an accident with an 18 wheeler and died. People all around gathered to support the family in their time of need, and they made a memorial bench in her name that was right near her grave site, and he loved it. We were singing a song called On Eagle's Wings and the song reminded him of this picture of two hands (Most likely God's) cupping a little new born baby, raising it up towards heaven.

There is a famous photo running about with that image and I wanted to pull from it and draw two hands and a baby cherub smiling happily in the hands, them being surrounded in bright colorful flowers with sun rays falling down upon them. On it I was going to write "Je arrivé chez moi." (I arrive home) to show that he made it safely and he is in Heaven now and he will be missed.

But I'm getting mixed reviews in the sense that some people think I shouldn't do it and other thinks its a good idea. One person told me that their mom had a miscarriage and the last thing his mom wanted was for anyone to do anything for her. He thinks I shouldn't do it at all, that it would hurt her too much.

The reason I post this is I want opinions, from people who experienced something similar to this tragedy and the situations they experienced during and after, and also to get personal views on the situation. Any personal views or suggestions on the project will be greatly appreciated.
