Enough of your jibber jabber! Here's my story...
My Journal = my life, my thoughts, my poetry.
14 strings??!!!!
after my piano lesson last night, my family and halel's family went to some other person's house to hear halel and other filipino people play the bandoria. i had no clue what it was until i got there. my mom said that it was like a guitar. when we got to the person's house, we went down into the basement and i saw 5 other kids playing and tuning up their bandorias. i did look like a guitar to me, except about the size of a violin. it was oddly shaped, but i don't have clear vision even with my glasses on. their bandoria instructor (some guy who goes by "uncle" by his students) came up to me with a bandoria in his hand. he held it out to me and said "hold it"

i tooked it from him very shyly and looked at it for a while. now that it was closer to me, i could see it alot clearer..there was a lot of pegs used for tuning the strings and i counted the strings and it turned out that there was 14 strings!!!! Jeez! how to people play this thing???? confused

Halel came down into the basement with us with her bandoria and she sat down in one the chairs and started playing hers. i watched her play while "trying" to read the notes that she was playing... but i didn't get it because instead of the notes being "A-B-C-D-E-F-G-A" it was "do-re-me-fa-sol-la-ti-do" and it really got me confused. she taugh me the "do" scale and i nailed it the fifth time playing it... sweatdrop she was really good at playing this 14 stringed bandoria....

while i was learning, Armin was learning how to play the bass so that the whole bandoria player group could play a song with the guitar that "uncle" played and Armin playing the bass... he didn't look happy though... stare they recorded the song many times because the first time, the guitar was too loud and we could barely hear the bandorias, the second time, the guitar was still a little louder than the bandorias... the next time, the bass was louder than the bandorias and the guitar. and finally about the fifth or sixth time, we got everything just to be right... the whole song sound pretty good.

So now we took home a bandoria to practice on and our first song... kimber and i are both learning... she's having a hard time, and i'm still stumbling a little so we're just both helping each other out.

my mom also said that Karen and Owen are gonna come the next time. I already know that Karen reads my journal all the time (but never comments) and so this message is for her: please come next time because this is soo cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
