Eeeeep! Stop reading over my shoulder!
more poetry...
Blankness
True White,
Not even a color
What is it’s essence?
Could one ever truly
Catch it?

My Knight
A world of fantasy
What is true?
The valiant knight
Will help the good out

Why in world, we fall?
In a world of fantasy
Told to face reality,
Where I want to be a child
And look onto the knight
And remember why he
Was my hero, truly.

Light
spectrums of color
fuse together
to make white-
light is beyond us.

Waning Vase
Thou wisheth to hoard beauty forever?
Then let beauty stay
Where beauty lay
And thou hast not a wilted flower

A thought-
The blank page-
How ominious.
But look!
It is blank no more.

The Ribbon Chain
She walks along
The prairie grass
The wind blows through her wake
She laughs and turns
Along with the years
The ribbon chain, it reaches out
And snaps about her wrist
She does not flee, but accepts her fate

An old one now, she waits
Lying in the grass
When she hears a ruffling
A little farther on
A prairie princess turns and looks
And shrieks ‘what a pretty dress!’
She wanders close, the old crone
Smiles, as she wraps the ribbon chain
About the child’s neck

Chiaroscuro
Two were one,
One was two,
The push and pull
Of eternal war
Always fighting
Neither yielding-
Dark and Light
Equilibrium
Of the seeing.
Without one,
The other ceases
To exist.

Words shall never…
The ash of passion
The page well read
Is shut, for a time
Waiting to be thought of
Again
Though print may fade,
And books may burn,
The Words shall never go unheard.

A Lack of Inspiration
Poetry, the fickle thing
Slaps you on the back
You cough out words
That are so black
Upon the paper white.
Then she will step away
For some other poor fellow,
And then leaves you stuttering
like an idiot.

its just a series of poems I wrote in tenth grade...serious, epiphany just strikes me upside the head when it feels like.

The closest there actually is to anything being related to my life is just me following a train of thought of what my beliefs are

Blankness and Light were actually based off of a movie we were watching in chemistry about light and its behaviors

A Waning Vase is what I think about superficial beauty--its nice while it lasts, but it doesn't last long. So if you want to remember it in its epitomy of beauty, leave it alone. For instance, flowers will live longer/rebloom if they're in dirt, rather than a vase. People ( a pretty girl is the example i'm going to use), is only going to be remembered as cute or pretty if they were only seen then, and not when they were sixty, or whatever.

The Ribbon Chain is about the need to continue "tradition" (esp. in women) even if it doesn't make sense to do/is detrimental to the person. For instance, the old woman at the end was addicted to pretty things because her mother was, and her mother taught her that in order to be a "lady", who she ought to be, she had to like pretty things too. And because she was instilled with that sense, she felt the need to pass it on the the next generation, and so the viscious cycle continues, for if you break it, you are considered "unfeminine", and thus "strange" or "lesbian", and very few want to be out of the loop. I used a ribbon because it's pretty, silky, soft, smooth, feminine, and chain, and ensarer, built upon link after link after link.

the others are pretty easy to read through at face value.

I don't really like to tell people what I was thinking when I make stuff, because I like it to be open to interpertation, and I get to see other sides of what it may be.

Why? What did you think these poems were about? I'm curious. biggrin
