Today is Pi (pie) day for those of you who take math (well, most of you anyway).
Plus, for those of you (in Japan at least) who celebrate it, today is White Day. I hope the guys remembered to get a present for their special someone. If you forgot, shame on you. If you don't celebrate White Day, then you can ignore that part.
Yay for double holidays!! whee
Did you know that the ancient Romans had over 200 holidays every year? Imagine if we had that many, and didn't have school on those days!! That would be nice, but unrealistic. Oh well.
That's all for now.

Yes, the Romans had a ridiculous number of holidays. It's why the Empire was in so much debt, since it kept importing lions and everything for entertainment at the Emperors' expense. (They also gave away free bread to the masses at these events, which is ANOTHER reason the empire was in debt.) So, the excessive number of holdiadys is one of the reasons the empire fell.
Somehow it's not looking so good anymore. . . .
And since I'm still in Latin Geek mode and you mentioned White Day, I shall add that Valentine's Day is also, incidently, probably related as much to the Roman festival of the Lupercalia as it is the saint. The Lupercalia may have been a fertility festival, but there were wolves involved to. You may get a Remus/Tonks fic about it in the next couple of days, so beware of werewolves.
Sorry, Pam --- I needed an excuse to ramble today and I guess you're it. (Hopefully I was at least mildly interesting.)
Cheers!
