The art of cramming
You can tell a lot by a high school student by what Is in their locker alone. Well at least that is what I have been told. But by going by person experiences I guess some of that sentence is true. My friends and I are great examples of this. One of my friends Jessie she is calm and quite, she doesn’t do much and her room is the cleanest out of all of our rooms has the cleanest locker, all that is in it is her backpack and jacket. Shaina, her room is small and cluttered but not to overly messy, her locker is cluttered with just random things, pictures of family members, an overly large jacket and backpack and those annoying school textbooks. My self on the other hand, well my room is an ABSOLUTE disaster zone! And so is my locker, it is cluttered with spare cloths; two backpacks, about 20 notebooks (if not more) a bed sheet (I’ll explain later) and other numerous items! You know that person who can’t close their locker, or open it for that matter? The person who you secretly laugh at because they are struggling so hard to open or close their locker? That is me!
Something else I have noticed about our lockers is the way they are stacked, one on the bottom, one on the top. I am the shortest person in my group of friends and I am the only one with a top locker! What I wouldn’t give to be able to see above my junk in my locker… I’m not the only one with this problem ether! Have you ever watched students try to get into their locker? The short kids always have the top locker! It’s a conspiracy!
Now that we are on the topics of conspiracies, why does it always seem like our lockers are placed in the most inconvenient places? All of my classes are scattered around the building, but none on the west side. I’ll give you one guess were my locker is. The west side! So I am stuck carrying all of my stuff with me all day. That is two textbooks, eight notebooks, six folders, my reading book for English class and my purse (which is just as bad as my locker.) Its insanity! Its like they are mocking us…
The art of Cramming
The force us to learn the art of cramming, and the sooner we learn it the better. We are forced to learn to cram down everything into a short 24 hours a day. School, after school activities, homework, work, chores, time with friends, time with family, eating, bathing, sleeping and other fun activates they shove down our throats. So with roughly 8 hours of school, and the 8-9 hours of sleep were suppose to get, we are left with 8 hours of everything else.
