Review
Oblivion is the 4th in the sires of RPG games; the game makes good use of the next generation consoles to create large open landscapes in which your character will feel like a small fish in a really large pond.
There are several elements to the game that will keep players entertained, such as guilds there are several gilds a person can join such as fighter’s guild and mages guild each will have quests that will benefit the player.
Free roaming capabilities- a player does not have to follow the main story and can go and do other things.
Killing people- unless a character is important to quests then you is able to kill them
Complete quests your own way- you can complete most quest you own way, which means no set path
Problems encountered
Whilst playing this game I have encountered several problems that need to be addressed, mainly to do with the loading screen and sometimes characters have been killed whilst wandering in the wilds that stops you from completing some quests
Setting
The game is set in the fictional country of Ciridal back in ancient times the country is set in the same location as the predecessors. But has very few links to the other games only things such as place names are kept.
Characters
Oblivion has 10 playable races, divided up into humans, mer, and beast races. Each race has its own bonus to selected skills. The humans are comprised of the magically-attuned Bretons, the influential and lordly Imperials, the fair-haired, hardy Nords, and the dark-skinned warrior Redguards. The mer, or elves, are made up of the tall, magical Altmer or High Elves, the small and nimble Bosmer or Wood Elves, the dark skinned Dunmer from Morrowind, and the brutish Orsimer or Orcs. The two beast races are the feline Khajiit and the reptilian Argonians.
The other races of the Elder Scrolls universe, such as the Sload, Maormer, Dwemer, Falmer, and Akaviri were not included because they do not associate in areas where the game takes place, due to exile, isolationism, banishment, or extinction. The Dremora, a race of humanoid daedra, are included but are not playable. However, they do appear as NPCs and may be interacted with.
Basic story
I will keep the story as basic as possible to as to not produce any spoilers
Your character starts of in prison and is freed when the emperor frees you upon freeing you current emperor is assassinated, it is up to you to fined the next air to the thrown and unravel the mystery of the emperors death. In the pursuit of this you come across the city of Kavach completely destroyed by the Deadra a race from another dimension (the plains of oblivion because the emperor is dead gates of oblivion are opening up all over the world. It is up to you to rise to the challenge stop the oblivion crisis and save the people of ciradel.
