Dark could feel it, the pain, the suffering.

He could feel Link's emotions, but all they did was please him.

A dark, twisted smile broke out through the darkness, a pair of piercing, crimson eyes above it.

"He seems so miserable..." Dark felt a flash of depression, which to him was pure pleasure. "Ahh...let's hope he doesn't recover anytime soon."

He leaned back on a withered, dead tree. He was in his own world of shadows and darkness, where he lived. He was a being of pure darkness, able to walk through the shadows as he pleased, always loving the surrounding death in the air, and the crimson dyed ground and sky, looking for another hopeless soul to destroy.

He hoisted himself up into the tree with one hand, sitting on a branch, gazing out over the world. Dead bodies dotted the ground, rounded white rocks revealing themselves to be skulls upon closer inspection, bones jutting from the ground like ghastly white roots, some arms with hands still attached, looking to catch those who walked by.

This was his world.

He sat there, taking in the hero's emotions. Dark had been created from the impurities that had laid dormant in Link, and brought to life through a deranged shadow version of the blond hero. Because of this, Dark could tap into Link's emotions when he wanted to, and feed off the negativity within him. Due to the recent loss, Dark had been doing this more often than before, enjoying every second of Link's suffering, hoping and waiting for the day that it would be him causing him to cry out, to bleed, to die...
