she opened her hand as a small ball of fire appeared. she looked at it as if tranced then said, "i can control some of the elements," she said with a sad voice. "i'm a kind of prodigy (sp?) in my village. i have constant training and attention that i don't really want."
or
she stared at him with wide eyes as if scared to tell him the truth. deciding to lie she says, "no i don't have anything special." she didn't want him to give her any special attention like her village did. she ran off so she could get away from that for a few hours, but got lost and found her way here.
