Tick-Tock Tick-Tock But through her painful screams Nobody hears the clock
"It's a boy!" one doctor announces As the woman heavily sighs The baby is put into her arms, She smiles even as he cries She counts ten fingers and toes. He's as healthy as he can be Eye dark and a tuft og the hair, And beautiful skin of light ebony "A name for your son?" A nurse askes he sweetly Her eyes closed as she spoke, "Joshua Andrew" she say meekly
Then exhaustion brings sleep to her
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock But through a child's laughter and joy Nobody hears the clock
"Kids, settle down!" the young mother shouts, As two children run around and play the first is a 5 year old Joshua The second is his best friend, Renee The children run into the yard. The sun greets them with friendly rays. Their minds are still innocent and nieve, Since they're still in their youthful days They play games of pretend Imagination turn them into valient knights And why shouldn't they have fun? They don't know about the lies, deceit, and the fights
Or any hardships still yet to come
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock But through her painful screams Nobody hears the clock
"This party rocks!" a teenager yells As she dances to her favorite song Beautiful, thin fram, perfect tan skin, Chestnut eyes, and hair soft, red, and long. Renee has grown up to be a beautiful girl. And all the guys seem to notice She walks to a table and picks up her drink Then she slowly begins to lose focus. Seh begins to sway and stumble Then she hears a deep voice shout She sees Joshua's face looking down at her, So she feels protected before she passes out.
Luckily, Joshua brings he home safely
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock But, though there is silence, Nobody hears the clock
"I...I don't know what to say..." Joshua mumbled As he looked into her eyes, She really didn't notice Didn't think this would take him by suprise "He asked me last night, and I said yes! Aren't you happy for me?" Renee just didn't notice, Rahter, she chose not to see. Joshua smiled, he said he was proud Held back his tears as he gave her a hug And he thought about what lie in his pocket For there a diamond ring sat, nice and snug
A ring his true love never saw
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock But through moans of ecstacy Nobody hears the clock
"I love you..." he whispered inot her ear As their passion comes to its height. And they fail to notice That from the doorway there enters a small ray of light The man in the doorway breaths heavily And he runs toward the secret couple He pushes Renee aside and off of the bed So he can give Joshua trouble A fight soon occurs Renee's husband soon finds his gun He points it a Josh And Renee starts to run
But in a twist, only the femal lovebird meets her end
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock But through his final prayer Nobody hears the clock
"Dear Lord in heaven..." Joshua slowly begins As he holds tight to his gun, "Thank you for everything. It's been lots of fun. Five years since you took her... And I only know one thing for sure." His words are muffled with tears as he finishes, "I can't live without her." With that he pointed his gun To the side of his head He held his breath and pulled the trigger Then fell in a pool of thick red
But his story is still not done
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock But at the gates of heaven Nobody hears the clock
"Where am I?" Joshua asked As he looked around at this new place He saw only white, he felt nothing Then a warm hand touched his face. He turned to see a Godly figure On his heavenly face there lay a frown Joshua began to cry And quickly put his head down The figure then opened his mouth to speak, "Do no be ashamed, but listen my son. His voice was kind, strong, and just. "Will you listen? Listen as I tell you what you have done."
Somehow, Joshua found strength to say that he would
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock But through their ignorance Nobody hears the clock
"Joshua, do you know about time? Do you know what it really means?" Joshua remained silent and shook his head "Well, it is more than it seems. You don't have forever to live And you chose to waste the time you had, But do not fear or worry I understand. I am not mad I know that you were going to do it, Ask her to be yours, But you should have had better judgement Then you would have opened the right doors."
Then the true explaination began...
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock Joshuacan almost hear...but still Nobody hears the clock
"That night you saved her, That's when you knew. The knew that you loved You hoped she loved you too. But you thought it would last forever So you acted to slow. And then when Renee began to love you... Well the rest of the story you know. She tried to appreciate life But you took you're time. She just couldn't wait And I wonder now, wouls you do it differently If you controlled your own fate
Joshua could only weep and nod his head
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock And only Joshua tries To hear the clock
Joshua Andrew is granted one more chance A chance to do things right When he was among his Lord and savior He finally saw the light So he is five once more And in his house two children play The first is a five year old Joshua The second is his best friend, Renee But Joshua remembers everything The sex, the lies, and the gun So this time he's going to do it right And remember to love, live, and have fun
Let's hope he turns out all right.
