Innocence 13
“SHUT UP!!!” I think I said that part out loud. Some of the lights in the village kicked on. I quickly went to the other side of our roof out of sight of the lights that were on.
“Do you always yell out random things?” I sighed hard. Why me.
“What could you possibly want now? I figured you would have learned after the beating you took from me.”
“What I want is you Jay. I want you. I want all of you.” I looked in her eyes to see if she was serious. Such a piercing gaze. She was way too serious about this it seems and her gaze said it all. I sighed.
“So you want me……uh huh and what is it you want from me and why the sudden change of heart. One minute you’re sleeping next to me in my bed and the next you’re trying to kill me. Talk about mixed messages. So do I get something out of you this time or is going to be more silence?”
Shadow came and stood next to me and looked up at the full moon and I sat down.
“I do have to apologize about all of this. I really didn’t mean to cause some of your problems over the last few days. There is something I’ve been hiding from you Master. It is a secret from my cla-”
“Wait, wait, hold on let me stop you there for just a second. Did you just call me master?” I looked up at the girl and damn it don’t you know she nodded softly. I leaned back against the roof and sighed.
“Is there any end to the problems you cause? Since when have I become your master?” She glanced at me sternly.
“If you’d let me finish Master, it’s something been I’ve been trying to tell you. It has to do with my clan. The women seek out powerful men and give him a test of strength. If the man can best her, she submits to him until the end of her life. And I refuse to owe someone my life through any other means then the way of our clan. I do thank you for saving me though. You have proven yourself against me”
“So you’re basically like a slave now, is that it?” I knew good and well that’s not what she meant. “Yes basically that’s what it is. Some are lucky to find the ones who will not misuse that power and abuse them, while others aren’t so lucky.” she looked so solemn in the moonlight as if she was remembering something that happened long ago. She really was very pretty.
“Whelp if you’re done missy. I’m going to bed now. It’s too much to deal with this right now.” I got up and using the edge of the roof I swung back into my room. I laid on my bed and quickly feel asleep.
The next morning Shadow wasn’t there. I don’t just mean in my room it’s like she didn’t even exist in the village, even some of the villagers hadn’t seen where she had gone. And while I’m on the subject of people that annoyed me Kraven wasn’t anywhere to be found. I assume he was holed up at his place. Ma, I’m surprised didn’t even know that I had gotten into the fight and almost killed two people and/or lost myself in power. I guess no one had told her yet or hopefully wasn’t going to. It’d be weird if I told her that I was morphing into some unholy demon child. I could only imagine what she would do if she found out.
I wasn’t much for lounging around in my bed even if I was turning into a shadow. I got a curious feeling again. I wondered if the Cave had changed any. Threw on an old shirt I had, it had the outline of a cats face. We call them neko or nekos for the plural people. And again another thing of blue jeans. I made sure to take my blade and strap it to my side again. Ma wasn’t here for some odd reason when I headed out the door. It kinda makes things easier when you don’t have to explain where you’re going. Although if she found out that I had gone there not once but twice I’d have to apologize profusely for it. I’m used to apologizing for things it’s a lot easier then asking for permission to do it.
Now it’s a bit hard to hide in the daylight, it’s even harder with a village full of people. You would think someone would take not of someone heading to the cave but I guess no one did. Or at least so I hoped. But moving stealthily was something I happened to be good at. At least in this village I was.
It took me a few minutes to get there, but I made it there with no problem.
The mouth was still just as wide as ever, the path to get here just as deserted. My heart was rushing I kinda loved doing some bad things every now and then. It was fun creeping into the Forbidden Cave. I don’t know why I was creeping, it’s not like anyone was even around to catch me up here anyway. So I guess looking over my shoulder now was pointless. It’s beginning to seem like breaking rules here in the village was beginning to be my downfall. This was the one thing I wanted to know and it had to be solved. I’m still young enough to get away with it now and with that I entered the Forbidden Cave.

“Can you take care of this?” the young man said towards the top of a cliff.
“Of course I can, I wouldn’t be here if I couldn’t now could I love” a woman’s voice rang back. She lept off the cliff and raced towards the cave.
“Finally, I’ll be able to take back what’s rightfully mine.” The voice laughed and it rang out through the valley.
