I lately have been wondering what is up with Gaia?? When I first joined this site everyone was friendly, you spent most of your time in the forums and you almost knew everyone else in one way or another! It was an awesome little community... but now it is all about making money or buying items with real money. Gaia was and use to be a totally free site, unfortunately it is not that way anymore.
I miss the times when I first started goofing around on this site. Snowbored Pants for 1780 gold were expensive. And the fairy wings for 40,000 gold... forget it!! Only the users that had been on since the site started had those. Ha ha those wings were the best item (aside from the monthly donation items (aka the Kiki and Coco Kitty items for those of you who are wondering how long ago I am talking)) and the most wanted! Only the 'cool' users had those... And all of us new users were not called n00bs, but new users. Others did not harass us or complain that we didn't know anything or tell us we were stupid. They explained stuff and were happy to help us. It was a successful community.
The forums were where we all lived. And if you didn't find us there then you could find us doing one of many things. Either looking for new video clips or themes for our ever constantly updated profiles. The profiles were everyone's pride and joy because we took time and put effort and originality into them. We had a few games but they were still fun to play. We also would chat in there too. We chatted everywhere ha ha. Or you could find us wandering the towns and world map. That was also when you could access all the stores and other places from the world map.
Oh and when I say "started goofing around" I'm not kidding. That was the main reason everyone was here. To do something in their spare time, a distraction during class (that was my excuse) or because we wanted to chat with others. (Some of my original friends from 4 years ago I still keep in contact with on here.) Most of that is gone now. And it is sad to think that those fond memories are only memories now. Memories that occurred 4 years ago. That was grade 11 for me. So much has changed around me. I finished high school. I started university. I moved 2 provinces (I live in Canada) away from all my friends. Gaia helps me still stay in touch with them. Gaia is also one of the only things left from those 4 years ago. And now it has come to the point where I barely recognize it anymore. If I could ask for one thing from this site, it wouldn't be a popular item or unlimited gold or even new additions to the site. It would be that it would change back to what it use to be. The original reason this site was started.
I recently visited a site that caught my attention. It also has it made it on the Top Rated Forum Topics chart as well as become a voice for those users with similar views and wonderings as mePlease check it out. Even if you just scan over what the user has to say.

But this is my opinion. Give me yours or write it on the above forum or to the creator of the forum. Let people know if you agree. Too many of use have stayed silent resulting in the mess we are in now.
