this one had three clusters of stuff i remember.
The last bit was about a Zone that turns up here and there. The zone finds the people not the other way around but even so it can be pretty dangerous. It targets couples who are in danger and anyone else brought along gets reduced to the form of a small animal before they are dumped out. It also involves lots of sex. The zone helps or forces a couple to confront what ever is troubling them, or causing them danger through sex with each other, spiced with a bit of danger. it doesn't matter if the couple is blood related as once they're dumped out of the zone, it's like the sex never happened physically, only the issues they've worked through remain. To get out of the zone (and there's a time limit on how long a couple can stay) a person jumps down a hole and into something like a big tunnel... which brakes up into smaller tunnels and dumps each person out to where they should be.

Before that was a flash of a young European woman who has taken service with a recently wealthy and ennobled Spanish family. The young woman comes from a line of mages and her brother is quite powerful... and doesn't care what he has to do or who he has to go through to gain more. As his sister put it, he would care if he had to sleep with herself, her mother and her grand mother or sell all three in order to gain a bride to help him expand his power further.
The daughter of the Spanish family the young woman is a companion of is about ten years younger and also has mage potential. Unlike the young woman's culture though, female mages are routinely trained in among the younger girl's people. Young woman is also here to learn.

The other flash was of young woman's brother and those like him. They'll stop at nothing to gain more power and a mage talented or mage potential carrying woman can do that for them as they use her power for their own. It also ensures that their sons will be stronger yet. No one really cares what the woman thinks about it.

Then there was a flash of the earlier characters in the zone and after that i woke up.
