Copied from a PM I sent to someone, explaining my doodling technique. Who knows? Someone might find it useful.
------------------------------------------
Okay, I crapped out a simple progression pic for you, starring my muse/brainchild Kouen. Yeah, he's a femmy-looking guy Xb
I doodled this in Photoshop with my tablet, but I do the same thing on paper in pencil so it wouldn't look much different if I made it that way.
This is just me, but unless the head is at a complex angle then I don't use guide lines to make it. However the simplest of guide lines are visible in the first sketch.
This is to just figure out the basic pose, though if you're making a drawing on paper you could make little pose sketches beforehand to figure out a position too. Tou won't have to erase as much on the actual picture that way. Note how light I've drawn it
The next one is filling out the guidelines. Drawing in his form and clothing in rough, and whatever else there may be in the pic. You can make as many guidelines as you need at this stage, but try to keep everything minimalistic and light, since you're going to be erasing it all later on (unless you're planning on 'inking' it in Photoshop of course).
The final pic is my finished doodle. I went over my rough lines with a darker colour, giving more definition to him. It is then over these lines that I 'ink' the picture digitally.
Any questions? :B
