Tubes were on his face helping him breathe and giving him nourishment. I can't stand seeing him like this. I turned away once before... Once... I have no planbs on making it twice. But I did.
I played on my Guitar of Angellus. I sang a small song, a song I've always heard.

But... I had only finished the chorus when I heard that familiar groan. It was me brother. He opened his eyes and smiled weakly. "Brother... Alex..." He had never called me brother before. Never by my name, either.
I felt myself smiling and tears streamed down my face. The silence was broken only by random beeps.
After a few seconds. "Brother... Gino..." It took me a few moments to analyze the situation. But I saw him smiling... Not just at anyone. At me.
"Brother..."
"...Never leave me..."
"... Never again..."
Tender words were shared and the tears stopped. The doctors were immediately alerted and he was given his medications. Before I noticed though, he hugged me. I hugged back. Just like we did. A year ago. Only, back then, I pushed him away. But now, I had apologized for that day and hugged him back.
When we pulled away, I noticed his smile. His tears. His happiness reflected in those beautiful blue eyes.
