Warnings: Mild language, Title: Phantoms in the Shadows Summary: A wraith escape in transit on the Northeastern coast. The Trust takes a hostage. Dead bodies with strange a COD begin showing up in the New York Crime Lab. Pairings: I know I put these in previously, but I don’t know how I’ll be able to work them in quite yet. Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Stargate, SGA, or CSI: NY characters. Spoilers: If you haven’t seen it and I have, sorry, up to “Identity” for SGA, just cause I don’t want to deal with the fact that Atlantis is on earth. Up to “The Triangle.” for CSI: NY, just so Lindsey can pull some awesome feats in the chap. Hopefully no spoilers mentioned. A/N: All mistakes are mine. It‘s finally here, Todd kidnapped my muse for a while and I typed this on the plane to Detroit. The SG-1 characters might be a little OOC since I don’t watch it as much. Thanks to Seventh Sanctum for their Quick Names Generator. Happy Spring Break!! ___________________________________________________________________ CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY Crime Scene #2 17:40 Military EST Mac had gotten a call and had to go back to the lab, so Stella had called up Danny and Lindsay to come help her process the new crime scene. There were two more dead bodies. As far as Stella could tell, the first vic, Danny Val Glass, had been mugged and beaten to death by the second vic, Luke Cohen, who looked like the vics from the earlier crime scene. “Hey, Stella.” Danny said walking up. Lindsey was next to him, looking kind of tired. “Hey, guys. Sorry, but Mac had to go deal with some sort of situation with the feds.” “It’s alright, Stella. You hear Don’s out of the hospital?” Lindsey said. “Yeah, Angell told me she was going to be on protection detail with some Jackson character.” “So, what can we do?” Danny asked, feeling slightly useless since neither of his or Lindsey’s leads had lead anywhere, but back to the victims and the missing colonel. “Uh, since we’re short on detectives, one of you could canvas the apartment building, see if anyone heard anything?” “I’ll do it.” Lindsey said setting her case down. ____________________________________________________________________ CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY Mac’s Office 17:52 Military EST The phone rang. Mac just let it ring. Colonel Mitchell was sitting in a chair; his arm in a sling, making sure Mac didn’t tell anyone about the “incident” at the hospital. The phone continued to ring. Mitchell was close to punching somebody. Daniel would be back soon from briefing the two CSIs and Detective Flack. General Landry was gonna be extremely pissed at him. They have to debrief four civilians that weren’t supposed to find out about the existence of that type of technology. “Would you just pick up the phone?” Mitchell said standing up. Mac walked over and hit the speaker button. “Taylor?” Silence. “Hello?” The person on the other end spoke after a moment, “Is Colonel Mitchell present?” “Who is this?” Mac asked. “Please put Colonel Mitchell on.” The voice was definitely female, but it was distorted. Mitchell stepped in. “This is him. What do you want?” “The missing wraith.” The voice said. Cameron glanced up at Mac’s confused expression and said, “You just got your security clearance pushed up.” He directed his attention to the phone again. “No can do. The SGC aren’t about to hand a wraith over to the Trust.” “It doesn’t matter. We already have two.” “Anything else, while we’re on the topic of what you want.” There was a pause and then muffled voices. “A Detective Don Flack.” “Why?” Mac cut in, What did this psycho want with Flack? “That is of no concern to you. You have two hours to contact me or the Colonel dies.” CLICK. They hung up. “What the hell is going on, Colonel Mitchell?” Mac looked ready to punch him. “It’s a really long story. I’d tell you, but I don’t have the time right now. I have to go tell my boss what just happened.” He walked out of Mac’s office. ____________________________________________________________________ CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY Apartments near Crime Scene #2 17:56 Military EST Lindsey was on the fourth floor now. So far her canvas had turned up complaints about loud music coming out of apartment 418, alien abductions and claims that a soviet spy was sleeping in the walls. In other words, she had nothing. No one was looking in the alley when the vics died. She heard loud music from down the hall, an annoying metal rhythm that threatened to blow the listener’s eardrums out. She decided she’d head that way to tell them to turn it down. A man came out of the apartment, looking scarred out of his mind ____________________________________________________________________ CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY Unknown location 17:56 Military EST The music was loud. His captor was playing loud heavy metal over their stereo. John couldn’t hear anything outside the closet. Hell, he could barely hear his own thoughts. Click. So neither could anyone else. He’d been making his plan for the last 5 or 6 hours. Menhit and her flunky had left, leaving Mr. Plum (keeping with the Clue color nicknames) to keep watch. The door was being held shut by a chain door lock*. It shouldn’t be too hard. He tested it, slamming against it, and then waiting to see if anyone heard him. Nope. He backed up as far as he could, which wasn’t that far, and rammed the door. It swung open, slamming against something. Freedom. Stepping outside for the first time in about a day, John realized the door had hit Mr. Plum. Oh, s**t. Mr. Plum started to get up. John surveyed his surroundings quickly. The apartment was two stories. Straight across from the door was some railing next to some stairs. He jumped up and over the railing, landing on an old sofa. The door was straight ahead and John was out of there. The halls were sort of empty. He walked passed a guy walking his dog. Mr. Plum came flying into the hallway, with a knife in his hands. Ah, come on. Sheppard thought as he turned and started running as fast as he could down the hall. As he turned he slammed into and knock down a woman. “Hey!!” she yelled as she hit the floor. (Switching to Lindsey’s point of view.) The guy just ran through her. “Hey!!” she yelled, hitting the floor. Looking up, she saw a second guy in a blue muscle shirt running past, with a knife! He was through the doors to the stairwell before Lindsey could get on her feet. Grabbing her radio she said, “Disturbance on the Fourth Floor of the apartment building. Suspect running down south stairwell with a knife. In pursuit. Stella he’s headed your way.” ___________________________________________________________________ CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY CSI: NY Crime Scene #2 17:59 Military EST “This sucks.” Stella said, looking around. “Tell me about it. No evidence to indicate a third party other than the fact that this guy didn’t do this to himself.” Danny motioned to where the body had been, as he walked toward his kit. The radio popped, indicating someone was reporting in something. “Disturbance on the Fourth Floor of the apartment building.” It was Lindsey. Both Danny and Stella looked up from whatever they’d been doing. “Suspect running down south stairwell with a knife. In pursuit. Stella he’s headed your way.” Danny and Stella were only a few yards from the south stairwell exit. They ran toward it, in time to see a guy trip through the door and almost land on his face. He wasn’t holding a knife though. “Hands up!” Danny shouted at him. The man, average size with messy dark brown hair, glanced up, squinting and put his hands up. He opened his mouth, but before he could say anything another guy came flying out of the door way, this one with a knife, and stabbed the first guy in the arm. Stella jumped into action, tackling the attacker to the ground and disarming him. Danny holstered his weapon and went to the first guy’s aid. Lindsey got to the bottom of the stairs, gun drawn. “Lindsey, call for a bus. He’s bleeding’. Looks like an artery!” Danny said, putting pressure on the wound to stop the guy from bleeding out in the alley. Stella was cuffing the other dude. Lindsey took out her cell to call for an ambulance. _________________________________________________________________ SGA CSI: NY SGA CSI: NY SGA CSI: NY SGA CSI: NY SGA CSI: NY SGA TBC… *I don’t know what they’re called. Think of rooms where there’s a chain keeping the door shut, like in hotel rooms or apartments.
