Puddles
An older short story of mine. I don't own the song, just the characters. I've been told it's creepy. I think it's just okay. :3 Read it and COMMENT BISHES! mad
Puddles
"Daddy! Daddy, look! There's a rainbow in this one!"
"By darn...you're right. That's wonderful, Lynn."
The sound of a young girl's laughter, coupled with the splash of water, filled the short silence afterward. The man that stood above the raincoat-clad girl smiled, watching her with pure joy as she made a sort of game out of jumping from puddle to puddle.
Her yellow rubber boots squelched on the dry parts of the sidewalk as she made her way to her father, who had walked to seat himself on a bus bench while she played. She climbed up to sit beside him, her short legs swinging from the metal. "I like the puddles."
"I know you do, Lynn," he replied, smiling and wrapping his arm around her.
She snuggled up to him, closing her eyes and leaning against his shoulder. "My toes are wet," she stated with a giggle.
"Well, we'll warm them up by the fireplace when we get home, huh?"
"I love you, Daddy."
"I love you, too, Lynn."

Singin' in the rain
Just singin' in the rain.
What a glorious feelin'.
I'm happy again.
I'm laughin' at the clouds
So dark up above
"The sun's in my heart and I'm ready for love," a smooth voice continued as the radio clicked off and a door shut. "Oh, I'm sure you know the words. Sing with me!"
The auburn-haired woman twirled slightly as she made her way across the room, beginning to dance with a nearby broom.
Another, rather shaky male voice joined in with the next line, "Let the stormy clouds chase everyone from the place. Come on with the rain; I've a smile on my face."
Crimson lips were turned into a smirk. "I knew you knew them!" A small pause.
"I'll walk down the lane with a happy refrain, and singin' just singin' in the rain! La... I'm singin' in the rain, just singin' in the rain. What a glorious feeling! I'm happy again. I walk down the lane with a happy refrain. I'm singin', singin' in the rain!"
The two mixed voices finished out the song, and the woman came to a stop in front of the man that had sung with her. "You're fun to sing with!" she exclaimed, smiling.
The man nodded from his position against the wall. "Would you untie me? It's quite uncomfortable."
"Oh, I can't do that," she replied simply, tilting her head slightly. "It won't matter in a minute, unless you want to sing again."
"You're ******** crazy! Let me out right now!"
"Oh, you're really no fun," the girl stated with a pout. "But you can keep screaming. Maybe someone will hear you and come play with me."
This was followed by rapid cries for help, though those were soon silenced with a guttural choking sound. A small sigh came from the woman as she removed the end of the knife from the man's throat and set it on the table, placing her gloves over it. She soon smiled, however, as blood began to pool on the floor.
"Isn't it pretty, daddy?" she asked, turning her attention to a skeleton hanging from another wall.
Silence for a few moments, before the woman ran her hands through the warm substance, spreading it over her face.
"I'm glad you like the puddles too, daddy."
