heart Chapter 1 "Love or Devotion" heart
It was a calm night and Suzaku was sitting on one of the benches by the academy's campus, thinking of what he should do now since the princess chose him to be her knight, though he didn't truly feel the same for her. After a long time of looking, Lelouche spotted Suzaku in his stressed state leaning over with his hands clasping his face. He walked up by the bench. "Kururugi? What's wrong?" Lelouche said in a grunt.
Suzaku removed his hands and saw Lelouche when he looked to see the one who was talking to him. He quickly withdrew his glance, his face bursting red with embarassment of his secret love of the former prince and his longtime friend.
"Its about Lady Euphemia isn't it... choosing you...." Lelouche said in a softer voice.
Suzaku without looking, quickly replied in a modest "Yes".
He felt Lelouche's cold hand touch his shoulder, Suzaku became redder with the burst of feelings rush through his body.
"You know I'll love you, no matter what Suzaku... I... always felt closer than a friend too you."
Lelouche tugged on Suzaku's uniform collar and pulled him near his face.
"I know you feel the same, It shows in your eyes...."
Lelouche tugged on the collar further toward him, the immense feeling in Suzaku's heart got even bigger, his eyes shined with comfort as Lelouche tenderly moved his lips from his mouth to his neck. Lelouche pressed him down toward the bench, Lelouche's tender touch made Suzaku feel even more in love with him. But the thought of Euphemia shot back into his mind, he pushed Lelouche back in a gentle push with his hands. Tears came to Suzaku's eyes.
"No Lelouche-San, I was chosen by Euphemia-Hime, and I must be dedicated to her, I have no choice."
Lelouche looked back in a gentle glare. He held Suzaku's arm tightly.
"Suzaku... I--"
The young knight relunctantly snapped his arm back, his tears were flowing with innocence.
"I must not... be distracted by your feelings for me, Euphemia is now my highest priority and I must be faithful to her, no matter." Suzaku ran off toward the school. Lelouche stared adoringly at Suzaku, with a feeling of what he should really do. Nearby, Euphemia face was flushed with shock and happiness. She just happened to be reading by the plum tree up on a near hillside out of chance. She now understood what Suzaku truly felt and undesirably was pretending to enjoy catering to her feelings. She looked at the elegantly designed bible she held in her hands and opened it up to reveal a small manga page she kept inside it. A tear rolled down her eyes. "If Sir Kururugi feels unhappy with me, then that makes me unhappy, however, tomarrow, even though I feel a little sceptical about it, I will set him free and choose another knight, that way we will both be happy..."
