Name: Carol
Race: Cursed Wolf
Age: Ten in human years
Weapons/Abilities: A strangely durable umbrella, sharp teeth, and strength equal to that of a 20-ish year old man who gets a small amount of exercise every now and then. She can't turn into a wolf, but she does have wolf ears.
Story: Carol was born and named in an animal rescue center as a normal wolf, where her mother died a week later due to an injury from a bear trap. Since they really didn't want to raise a wolf that couldn't survive in the wild, the animal rescue group quickly put her in a forest reserve along with another family of wolves. Seeing as a newborn pup wasn't a threat, she was eventually accepted into the new family.
Things went normally from there. About a month later, she and the other wolves were set out into the wild where they stayed together for quite some time. Still, after three years, it was about time for Carol to become independent, and even that went well.
When she was about seven years old, Carol was a fully grown wolf and had even found a pack to hunt and travel with. One night, however, the pack made the unfortunate mistake of stealing food from a mage's temporary campsite. It wasn't like they really cared or knew about magic, anyways. That morning they awoke to the sound of irritated mumbling and glanced up at the source of the noise with equally irritated expressions. How dare this idiot wake us up when we need our rest? was their main thought up until a small light floated towrds them.
Most of the wolves instinctively ran away from the unnatural light in time. However, Carol, who was born in a well-lighted building, wasn't afraid of this light. Some memory deep in her mind told her that she'd never been hurt from a little light, so she simply stayed put. What a mistake that was!
When the light got within three feet of her, she blacked out. A few hours later, she sat up and rubbed her head. Wait...sat up and...rubbed her head? Last time she checked, wolves couldn't do that by reflex. She looked at where her paw should have been. It looked just like a human hand! As confused as she was, Carol knew that she should at least check her surroundings. When she did, it turned out she was at the mage's campsite.
When the one who built the camp, probably the reason for her change, stepped into view, she glared at him. Her teeth clenched and she growled at him, but the only thing that came out was a small child's imitation of a growl. "Ha!" The mage exclaimed, clearly proud of himself. "That's what you get for having the nerve to steal from me! Let's see how well you can live as a human with all of the benifits from being a wolf taken away from you." He gave a smug grin, which irritated her further.
Angily, she leapt at him. After all, it wasn't exactly difficult for a grown wild canine to harm a human. Surprisingly enough, though, she was shoved away with ease. With wide eyes, she looked down to see just how small she was, then compared that to the mage's size. All the while, the man's grin was only growing wider. Confused, defeated, and ashamed, Carol turned and ran as she heard the laughter behind her slowly fading away.
It had been three years since then, and Carol spent that time training and attempting to study magic. While she still can't use any magic, she found out a lot about mages. From what she learned, she was turned human by a new mage who was clearly full of himself, who'd changed her into a human not because he was angry but because he wanted a reason to flaunt his magic.
Because of her misfortune, Carol despises anything supernatural and will continually smack anyone with her umbrella if they so much as compliment the use of magic or anything supernatural. She has a fiery temper when it comes to things like that and will even call mythical beings "freaks of nature" somewhere within her ranting. However, when it comes to normal animals and normal humans, she's fairly calm.
