dream #1: Me, Dracula, and Transformers.
ayup. so says the title. so, here goes...
I'm on a feild trip or something with some classmates, outside in a big sort of grassy parkish place. There is this buzzing noise that is getting louder and louder, and a dark cloud moving towards us. we need to get inside/run/head for cover! I say/think. So we all run into this (apparently) 1-story building with big glass doors on the outside. I get inside and turn to hold the door open for the others. These black birds with yellow beaks start dropping from the sky, and apparently their reasoning is to crack our heads open with their beaks when they land smack on our heads after falling hundreds of feet. Apparently I called them Dire Corbies. (yes, from that book.) So people are running in, but the Dire Corbies are trying to get in through the doors to attack us. So as people run in I'm kicking them and holding them back. I look to my left and there's a green (or blue) mech (mechanoid thing like a pet) that's sorta dog/catish and it's fighting the Dire Corbies over there. I guess it was my pet, or something. So everyone gets inside and we lock the doors. We're all milling about when Dracula walks up to me with some gangster-esque cronies and says/thinks something to the gist of I have a mech too, meet me on the rooftop at this time to battle or else something bad. And I'm like, ok sure. So then there's this looooong journey through what is apparently a sky-scraper mansion with lots of confusing stairs and big dark rooms and red velvet. (in one big dark room people were playing Guitar Hero.) After a really long set of stairs I emerge onto the rooftop. In the sunlight. (the dire corbies no longer exist. at all.) So we're gonna have a mech battle when there's this crashing sound and I look below me over the rooftop and there is someone in a mech suit taking out the support beams. So I guess she found something to smash is the last part of the dream. and then I awaken.
............ yeah.
Dream #2 Deadly Grey Moths
So there are these grey moths falling from the sky like ash, and anything they touch they attatch on to and form these big, pulsating gooey blob worm things.... And they eat what they're attatched to. So I go to this big warehouse/garage-ish place, and there's someone else with me, helping me out. I don't know who. We start running out of food after awhile so we decide to try to make it itno the adjoining room, which has vending machines. Only thing is, this room is really big, and there are glass doors to the outside and there's light spilling in. and a few of the deadly grey moth thingies. So we make a break for it around some tables and head for the vending machines, and then the moth thingies start swriling in and we try not to get hit by them. Then we run back and grab some fire hoses and spray water on them to wash them away so they don't take root. then I wake up.
ayup.
Dream #3: Me the superhero, zombies, shiny buttons.
So I'm a superhero or something and I've got a sidekick (don't know who they are) and this dream takes place at night. (well, duh.) And we're jumpng across the rooftops, then we go into this big warehouse place, and there's this huge wall-length machine (kinda like those really old computers) with shiny buttons and lights and switches all over it. And there's some old guy who's evil, and I say, "You won't get away with this!" And then the scene cuts to this random person watching a tv screen (somehow I'm in the room, too) and on tv is this old black-and-white zombie movie, and thenthe zombie turns and looks at the screen and its eyes flash green, and then the person watching turns into a zombie and comes after me and I climb on top of a speaker. And the scene cuts back, and my frind sees these little cassette tapes, and is all, "I'll listen to these" and I say, "NO! Don't!" but it's too late, and listening to them turns my sidekick into a zombie. So the sidekick runs out of the building, and then I'm chasing them across the rooftops. and I don't know how, I think I lassoed them or something, but I got him back to the warehouse. And I make him push some of the shiny buttons on the big machine thingy, and he turns back to normal. and then I wake up.
The Crow So, at the beginning of this one, I'm walking along a path with trees on either side and light filtering through on down. And I walk past this old dilapidated shack that's falling down with a window broken, and a couple really old, really dead pine trees behind it, and I think, "Oh no, this is where the crow is, I'd better walk fast or he'll notice me." But then the crow notices me, so I run off the path to the left and break out of the trees into a long open green meadow with the crow chasing me and wanting to eat me and peck my eyes out and dive-bombing me from behind going Caw Caw! and then I'm inside this room that is like, a 20-sided polygon or something, and in each wall is a window with a red frame. And I run around in circles for a very long time, because the windows are all unlocked. The crow opens a window, he comes inside, but he's always opening the window to the left of me and I'm always closing and locking the window to the right, and every time I lock and close a window he's like, teleported back outside. So we go round and round and round, but then he breaks the pattern and gets inside. And right before he pecks my face off I say/think, "If you don't eat me I'll give you a shiny from my shiny collection!" and he stops and gives consent. So then we're in my room, and looking over my shiny collection, and he picks something and we part on friendly terms.

under construction- mrgreen
Mother Gaia gave birth to Onano-rakan, Sarai-anati, Saphira-anoki, Lokurza-duli, Daichi-ganseki, and Kuuki-uindo.
Jikoku-toki, or Father Time, is Mother Gaia's partner. He makes time advance, and rarely interferes with the doings of mortals. He makes sure that time is running smoothly, and picks out kinks caused by idiotic wizards with theories of time travel.
Saphira-anoki and Lokurza-duli are the parents of Draconza-duli and Sunehebi-ku. When Saphira-anoki and Lokurza-duli broke up, they then went to opposite alignments and began their rivalry as fire and water. Draconza-duli is supervised by Lokurza-duli, and Sunehebi-ku is supervised by Saphira-anoki, but she rarely listens to her mother. Sunehebi-ku and Draconza-duli decided to make the races of Dragons and Wyrms together. These creatures are able to breathe fire, and yet have writhing bodies like that of a river- Dragons dislike water, but Wyrms like it.

under construction! mrgreen the nacho fairy is currently working on this entry.
introduction The mages and magic in this world are all drawn from gods, so be aware that the magic you choose to weild also will reflect the alignment of the god/goddess, and will say something for your alignment as well. for instance, water spells are mostly defensive/healing, and fire spells are mostly offensive/destructive. So on top of being a monk or a mage, one must also choose carefully the powers that you wish to weild. If following many deities for many magics, you can mainly follow one god/goddess and have some others on the side, however magic under those categories will be weaker than your main magic.
Stopping mid-spell It is possible to cut off a spell, but if you don't make sure that the magic is separated from the elements you were putting it into (i.e., a tree) then you might accidentally leave in some of the energy and have the tree come to life or something. So as long as you separate the magic before cutting off your control over it, you should be fine. When this is done properly, the energy will spread throughout the world, rather like air. This is what sustains the magical races, as well as their natural magic. Magic cannot pool unless something is specifically catching it and holding it in one spot- if there is an area of high concentration, then it pools out to an area of lower concentration. The feeling you get in your spine when entering a magical forest is from the natural magic-gathering and holding that the trees do, giving them a longer lifespan and a healthier life that is almost sentinent.
does magic attract or repel? it depends on the kind of magic it is. Raw energy repels raw energy, but magic can be shaped to gather other kinds of magic. Magical creatures and mages can sense others with the same talents for weilding magic, or just being magical. If someone is powerful enough, or enough magical creatures are gathered together, then a normal person with little or no connection to magic can sense it. Every creature has at least a tiny, tiny connection to magic. Some humans are blind to it, only sensing something "off" about someone or someplace, but some mages can sense exactly who has what sort of power; an anima mage can sense if another mage uses the same sorts of magic.

under constant construction! mrgreen
In the beginning, there was nothingness. Cold darkness was all that existed in the Void. Then, a spark of intelligence and power lit up one small corner of the Universe. It came from nowhere and everywhere, a collective intelligence possibly from an alternate dimension. It saw the Void, and knew that here life could be put. Here many worlds could thrive, without machinery as the last race had been corrupted. But how to make sure that their needs were satisfied? It thought in the darkness until, finally, it had a shot of inspiration- the powers that had been exterminated in the old worlds through takeover of technology could be made anew here, stronger, and in full force. This place would be a wellspring of power. It made material from the emptiness, formed planets from the Void. and to watch over these planets and fill them with life he created two new beings of power, like it but unlike it, to devote their existances to this place. Thus were Mother Gaia and Father Time created in the beginning.

dietey FAQ- a guide to alignments and the rules of magic. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
I'll make up some questions to start with, and If you have another please pm me. mrgreen
If all magic comes from gods/goddesses, then why are there spell incantations? well, this is because a spell might take many different elements/gods, or just one. For instance, shooting a fireball is much simpler than opening a vortex to another dimension. Incantations can invoke the powers of gods, or activate previously placed spells. why are there hand gestures/week-long rituals? What are these for? The raw magic is the only thing you get from the gods- you must shape it and twist it to do what you want it to do. Fireballs are easy- almost completely straightforward expulsions of raw energy, with just a little hand-flourish to send them in the right direction. If building a particularly strong and large fireball, one must keep one's hands over it to keep it contained until release. However and inter-dimensional portal's magic must be twisted and weaved and spun and planted and grounded and twirled to make such a thing- that is what chalk drawings and arcane symbols are for- the lines help direct and hold magic, to make the user's job a little easier. why conduct ceremonies at certain times? The gods' powers wax and wane in certain seasons, certain years, certain times, certain days, certain phases of the sun and moon. For instance, using dark magic is easier at night when the sun isn't in the way, and vice versa. So certain spells and rituals would be more likely to succeed at the time when that particular god is strongest. How are the gods/goddesses named? Well, I just translate things from english to japanese online, and pick what sounds the coolest. If I feel like it, I'll hold a contest in here for name ideas- then I'll make a thread with a poll, and the most popular name idea wins! The person who came up with it gets 100 gold from me. 3nodding actually, it'll be from my mule account, xixZatannaxix, who I use as a bank and extra storage. What's up with the gods/goddesses having alignments? Do I have to follow them? You do not neccesarily have to follow the alignment of the god/goddess that you follow- it is just saying that that particular entity's magic/powers lean more towards good or evil. For instance, the fire god's magic is more destructive, and the water goddess's magic is more defensive and healing. If a deitey is neutral, than their magic varies. OMG u t0t@l73y 5uCkZ0r5!1111 leave. now.

For bird-hat-things rpg. I'll be continually updating this one. If you would like a new elemental or alignment god/goddess, please pm me. ex. water, ice, fire, lighting, wisdom, cruelty, death. I will post an OOC in one of my posts in really big letters on the forum if I'm going to have a naming contest. Those will be held in seperate journal entries. If you think that the name or gender of a god/goddess should be changed, I'll make a forum with a poll for it and you can all vote. However, I reserve artistic license and have the final say.
If you want to know a god's alliances, look at Alliances and Relations. Questions? look at the FAQ. Magic concerns? look at Magic: How does it work? Curious about the history of the universe? take a gander over at bird-hat-thing's journal- I write it, he changes it and records it in the official version. so far-
