Two words.
Pandora Hearts
Now I first discovered this AMAZING series actually through another gaia-er, who had it in her signature. In her siggy was a tall, handsome man with shoulder-length wavy hair, that said "Gilbert Nightray". Sexy man, sexy name, what more could one ask for?
So I checked it out. And I was NOT disappointed in the least.
So the story starts out with 15 year old Oz Bezarius (in some of the fanlations, it's Vessalius, but they're just wrong) getting ready for his birthday-ceremony-thing. But he's not actually getting ready, he's just playing around with his little sister Ada, and his devoted servant/best friend, Gilbert (coughcough).
They stumble onto this abandoned garden with a cross tombstone, and fine this crazy cool pocket watch that plays this really strange tune (makes Oz go a little crazy).
In Oz's rich world (he's the son of a duke, so I guess he'll become a duke eventually) there is something called the "Tragedy of Sabrie" that happened 100 years ago- lots of people died and no one knows why. There is also something called the "Abyss" which is just like it sounds- dark, creepy, full of monsters, and no one ever gets out alive. In the Abyss live things called "chains", that kind of feed off your life and eat people, and protect you, and etc.
I'll let you read to find out the rest, cause it's kinda ********' weird sometimes. but overall, it's a really great story. it's got an "Alice in Wonderland" theme going on that is very apparent throughout the whole thing (especially because the female protagonist's name is Alice) and is pretty damn cool.
Some of the characters I feel the need to mention are:
Oz Bezarius- Cute, blonde and has a thing for younger women. He's 15 (14?, no, 15, I think). The main protagonist, and very kind, with a dark past (who doesn't, nowadays?)
