It seemed like they never had any money. They constantly moved from place to place, shelter to shelter, school to school, just trying to survive. Alvin's mother always said that he was special and that his father was someone amazing but he was never around. All this suffering caused Alvin to despise his father. Then one day a man approached him claiming to be his father. At first he thought it was a joke but the reaction his mom had made him realize he was telling the truth.
