Flames of the past...
This is a completely original story that i will come up with as i go along. I will post a new entry at least once a month.
A long time ago in a place far far away...
The castle stood tall as the first rays of daylight began to cast their majestic glow on its cold stone walls. The King himself... a man by the name of Magnus... strolled slowly along the walls of the castle keep, taking in the serentiy that surrounded him in the cool of the early morning. He took in a deep breath, ready to face a new day, when his peace was shattered by the ear-piercing shriek of his wife, now 9 1/2 months pregnant...

He ran back into his bedchambers to find the royal physician had beaten him there and begun the birthing procedures they had long practiced... King Magnus knelt by the bedside of his screaming wife and held her hand as she began to squeeze it as though she were trying to get every last drop of blood out of his entire body through that one hand...
"Push, your majesty, PUSH!"
"UUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH!!"
With one final burst of strength she pushed and the baby slid out with ease... covered in blood. The physician ordered a nurse to immediately clean up the newborn as he attempted to save the Queen, for she had lost much blood and was on the verge of death after having her first child...

The King waited hours outside in the daylight, holding his newborn child in his hands and praying to a God he didn't know that his wife would survive. however his prayers held no avail... his beloved queen Alexis had died from childbirth... a rare sight in the kingdom but it was known to happen...
Magnus wept and mourned his wife the rest of that day, but a much more serious threat was at his door... He had recieved word not two days ago that an army numbering 250,000 men and 500 knights, was approaching his castle and preparing a massive attack. This army far outnumbered his own, and he had anticipated reinforcements from other nearby allies... but he'd recieved word that those kingdoms had already been conquered as his was about to be.
looking down at his child he knew there was only one thing he could do to save him... the blacksmith...

------

A blacksmith by the name of Robert was working in his shop when the King burst through his shop doors... this was no surprise to him, as the King and he were best friends. He greeted the King with a bow, and by the look on the King's face, knew that he was about to hear some really bad news...
"Robert, i have trusted you all my life, but now i must ask of you a favor which is never to be repaid... you must take my newborn sun and flee the kingdom at once... the walls of Ce'esure are soon to be under seige so you must be swift. I have arranged for you to travel out unnoticed with all the provisions and gold you will ever need... please, there is not much time... go my friend, and keep my boy safe."
Robert had been silent for this whole time, but now as he was given the child he simply had to speak out... "but your majesty... what will happen to you? to the kingdom? to the rest of the village townsfolk?"
"They have already been ordered to evacuate or be executed by our attackers... most have left but a few linger... now go, and don't worry about me... if i die it will be valiantly..." The King closed the door behind him and wept silently... tomorrow would bring destruction, and the king would die along with the remainder of his people... but his son did live, for the blacksmith took him in and raised him on his own...

Vulcan would one day see to it that his father, King Magnus of Ce'esure, would be avenged...
