It was a rainy September evening, a kind of rain that seeps the thickest cloaks. He wasn't aware of the anguish that she was having nor was he even in any position to recognize. They ventured in the rain after alighting from the short ride.

He tried to speak and give his point however she hushed him, "This is not the time to discuss that...", she said softly but with enough steel to silence him. This instantly prevented any words from being said between them. They patiently waited for the bus to arrive.

A couple of moments afterwards, an orange-accented bus pulled over their side. Soaked and tired, neither he nor did she utter an objection to ride that air-conditioned bus. There are only a couple of passengers on that ride. Making the bus atmosphere colder than usual. The steady drip of rain thrummed at the roof and the glass windows of the vehicle as it crept along the highway. She then twined her arm on his arm. She nestled close to him to lessen the cold bite of the air from the ventilation fans of the bus. He was perplexed at first, but later on gave in to her request. He extended his left arm above her head and poised it so she could enter the space in between. She then nestled her head on his broad shoulders and asked, "Why so silent? Aren't you about to say somethin'?"
He rested his chin on her forehead and spoke "I'm worried. I don't usually feel this way but this time, I have a nagging feeling that I'm being overlooked."

"Why now?", she said as she looked up on his face.
"What do you mean by that?", he answered quizically.
"Co'z this is really coincidental, I mean, just when we are already in this readied stage. That's like saying that we are not going to continue with it!", she raised her voice slightly as to give emphasis.

"It's not like that. I'm not having second thoughts, ti's just so...well...so sudden."
"Sudden? You call this sudden? After waiting for five long years and getting all ready and then you call this decision sudden?", she half-shouted. Tears began welling around her eyes.

Struggling free of his embrace, she faced the glass pane of the now speeding bus. The raindrops streaking down the windows, being carried by the tumultuous gusts of wind battering on the windshield.

"If you don't wanna do it anymore, that's fine with me...just be sure that you wouldn't go asking me 'nymore. Co'z this is the last time. This is not working."

Motioning to stand, he caught her by the shoulders and pulled her to him. He didn't care nor noticed people on the ride were intently peering at them.

"Don't...please don't do this...you know that I can't go on without you... crying "
