Chapter One Of New Story!
“Kristin, Luana,” Gabe said with a in a low monotone voice. “I have a new mission for you two. It is something that no one in the Corporation has ever done. Mostly because we have never had a case like this before. However I believe that you two will be perfect for the job and I know that you two will take care of it easily. Are you two up for the mission?”

“Of course we are up for the case.” Kristin said looking to the right of her. “Luana and I have never turned one down, why would we turn one down now?”

“Mostly because this mission has nothing to do with demons. This involves a Vampire Lord. He has been spotted feeding off of humans and leaving them dead on the ground. It is said that a vampire bite is somewhat of a venom and if you take in to much of this venom, you die. This vampire has made sure that the venom was too lethal so it kills the victim and not change them. Your mission is to find this vampire and bring him back to the Corporation, alive. Try your best to bring him back, but if things get to dangerous, then just let him go and come back.”

“Aww, you won’t have to worry about us not bring him back.” Kristin said, her attention directed back at Gabe. “We have never failed you and will not fail you on this mission. Vampires are just like demons; fast, intelligent, killers, and are not trust worthy.”

“Kristin, please don’t underestimate vampires, especially a Vampire Lord. They are not like any other creatures you have ever met before. Please remember this.” Gabe’s attention moved towards Luana. “Will you please keep Kristin in check for me, Luana? I know that you are the one not to move so quickly when it comes to a mission.”

Luana let out a soft laugh and nodded her head. “Of course I will, Sir.” She said softly with innocence in her voice. Kristin’s head turned towards Luana and gave her a look as if she was a little disappointed that Luana didn’t back her up.

“Thank you girls, you start as soon as you walk out of this building.” Gabs said, resting his head on laced fingers. “One more thing, he is stalking someone, we have no clue who he is stalking, but keep an eye out. You two are dismissed.”

This was just the start of my memory of the day I lost my dear sister, my best friend, the one person I cared about the most. I couldn’t believe that we were so blind when it came to that night. All of the signs were right in front of our faces, but we didn’t see them. This memory is forever etched in my mind, something I will never forget, and I can’t forget.

“Kristin, he went that way.” Luana said out of breath as she lead the way around a corner in the ally ways. Kristin and Luana were on the mission Gab had given them. It was about half past midnight and it has been dark out since about eight. Vampire are able to come out during the day, but this vampire seemed to enjoy the old ways, or stalking his pray at night. For all they know, is that they have been running around for about eight hours and they haven’t even come close to him.

“Luana, be careful, he might be leading us into a trap.” Kristin yelled in gasps of air. “He knows perfectly well that we are following him. So expect the unexpected.”

“I understand.” Luana said as she stopped dead in her tracks. “We lost him again. This is getting really irritating.” A low growl came for her throat as she turned towards Kristin. “What do you think we should do now? We have been running like chickens with out heads cut off for the past seven hours. We have gotten no where so far.”

Kristin stood there; here eyes traveling up at the moon lit sky. She believe that it would be best that they kept pursuing the vampire, but they both couldn’t last much longer, and their safety was more important for this mission. “I hate to say this, but I think we should go home and get some rest. We should come back tomorrow night and look for him.” Kristin’s eyes moved to meet with Luana’s. Luana gave her a look of surprise. “I think it is the best for now. We both are clearly out of breath.”

Luana looked away from Kristin and looked behind her. She really wanted to get this vampire and stop him. Each and every night he is killing innocent humans and if they stopped, he would just kill more. She understood though, that there was no way she could continue. “Okay, lets go and get some rest but we start right away tomorrow.”

Kristin let out a soft laugh and nodded her head. “Lets go then.”
****

That was the last time I was able to hear Kristin laugh. I can still picture her face as she laughed the laugh I always enjoyed hearing. I knew why she laughed at me that night. She knew I always thought about others before myself and she couldn’t help but to laugh about my reasoning. She couldn’t read my mind, but she knew from my hesitation that I wasn’t thinking about myself.

Kristin and Luana were a few streets away from West Madison Street downtown Chicago when Kristin ran into a little, crying boy. Kristin was confused at first of why a little boy would be out here all alone until he spoke.

“C…can you help me find my mommy?” The little boy spoke in between his cries and tugging on Kristin’s shirt. “Please, I can’t find her and it is so scary out here.”

Kristin looked over at Luana and then back at the little boy. She knelt down and looked the boy in the eyes. He seemed so lost and confused; she just couldn’t let this boy find his mother alone. “It’s okay, I will help you find your mother.” Kristin stood up and looked at Luana. “Luana, can you please head back to the apartments, I will meet up with you after I find this little boy’s mother.”

Luana nodded her head understanding that Kristin could protect herself if anything attacked her. She was a strong girl and could take any weak demon or a few humans. “Okay, see you soon then.” Luana headed off back to the Smurfit-Stone Building in Chicago, where the building the company she worked for kept hidden.

Kristin looked back at the little boy and smiled. “Okay, can you lead me to where you and your mother were at last? Then we can start from there.”

The little boy nodded his head and took Kristin’s hand, leading her to where he last seen his mother.
****

That was the worst mistake in my life I had ever made. I should have never let Kristin go off on her own. We lived in the middle of Chicago no one was ever safe alone there at night. Even if they were with a little kid and was one of the top demons hunters in the Corporation you don’t wander the streets alone. If I was able to go back into time, I would of helped Kristin find the little boy’s mother.
****

“You wondered pretty far for a little boy like you.” Kristin said softly as she followed the little boy. They already walked under the train tracks that circled Chicago and they were coming up to the river slowly. “Are you sure this is where your mother was last.”

“Yes, Yes.” The little boy giggled. “She was showing me all of the cute duckys in the river. Then,” The boy stopped and pointed at an ally way not far from where they were standing. It was in between to buildings that had at least ten stories to them. “Then I saw her walk that way. I followed, but she disappeared.”

“Well, then, that is where we will have to start.” Kristin said as she took the little boy’s hand again and lead him through the ally way. After they were deep enough from anyone seeing, the little boy stopped dead in his tracks. “What is it?” Kristin asked as she turned to the little boy.

“Thank you so much big sister.” The little boy said. He had big smile on his face, one that made people adore him. “I am sorry to do this, but he told me too, but you will be wonderful so I will not regret it.”

Kristin’s eyes began to widened as the little boy said this to her. Why didn’t she see it before? Kristin tried to take her hand from little boy’s hand, but the boy’s grip was too strong. “You are a vampire!” Kristin grasped from her mouth.

The little boy giggled as he pulled her down a little so she was face to face with him. “I am,” the boy said as he gently placed a sweet kiss on Kristin’s cheek.

Kristin’s body soon became very weak and everything around her seemed to get heavy. She quickly feel to the ground to weak to stand, and was out cold in seconds. Little did she know was that little vampires had an ability to pull the energy from ones soul. A perfect trap for Kristin, which she would have never seen even if it flashed right in front of her face.

Luana let out a soft sigh as she walked down the Magnificent Mile to the building she called home, the Smurfit-Stone Building. The building was just an average looking building in Chicago and was just a plain old packing company. Well, what was what everyone knew who didn’t work in the company’s building. Instead, the building was the home to the demon-hunting Corporation. The building was said to have forty-one stories, but they left out the top five unused floors, which are actually where the main people of the Corporation work at. Like Kristin and herself. Kristin and Luana lived both at the top of the building where they had their own little apartment.

A shadow in one of the ally ways swooped by Luana in seconds and caught her eyes. She stopped walking and looked deep into the ally way. “Kristin,” She spoke softly but loud enough so that who ever was down the ally would hear her. Her eyes quickly narrowed though, when she felt a strong aura. It wasn’t the strongest she has ever felt before and was weak enough where she could fight it alone, but it wasn’t a demon aura. Luana looked around her and then headed into the ally. She walked for a while until she turned a corner and was completely out of eyesight.

“Show yourself, I know you are here. I can feel you!” Luana spoke calmly and gently.

With that a low chuckle echoed around the ally. “Luana Sitara, one of the greatest Demon-Hunters known in Chicago.” A male’s harmonic voice said that echoed just like the chuckle did. “You are the newer addition though. Nothing like Kristin, weaker then she is, Kristin’s blood smells sweeter and I am sorry to say this, just not as attractive.”

Luana’s hairs flew up on her back. This was the vampire they were looking for and Kristin was the one he was stalking. “You leave Kristin alone. I will kill you if you do anything to her.”

The chuckle echoed through the ally again. “I don’t think you can threaten me in the position you are in right now. I thought it would be hard to get you two separated. I never knew that the little boy would work so well. Right now, Kristin is off with a friend of mine. A vampire just like myself, but see children are so much different from us adults. They don’t feed off of blood; they take the energy from one’s soul instead. So she is most likely off in an ally way with the child, out like a bear in hibernation. However, Luana, I cannot keep you alive. You will just end up being in my way if I do. I am terribly sorry, but I don’t need you or the Corporation in my way with what I have in store for Chicago. Kristin will be there to help me out as well.” The man’s echoing chuckling surrounded Luana again.

Luana was stunted. She couldn’t believe the mess Kristin and herself were in now. This was like no other demon before. This vampire was something way different and Gab had warned them to. There were so many signs that told them this was not a good idea, but they both were foolish and didn’t listen to them. This was when Luana remembered what Gab had told them before the mission. That if anything came up that they should come back to the office. The best thing to do was to report what has happened.

Luana stepped back and went to turn around but was quickly stopped by a tall man. His face features were like no others. His skin was pale in the moonlight, his bright, sea blue eyes are out of this world, and his hair was short and gold like. He was tall and slender, but built and when he took Luana’s arm, she could truly feel how strong he was.

“I don’t think so, Luana.” The man said with a smirk, his teeth glistening in the moonlight. “I haven’t feed on anyone today because of you and Kristin, and now I am terribly hungry.” The man took Luana’s hands into one of his, holding them tightly. “Now don’t move, or I will make sure you can’t move at all.”

The man took his other hand and moved Luana’s neck to one side. He pulled Luana closer to him and her neck closer to her neck. Luana was to stun to move a single inch.

“This will only take a couple minutes, Luana Sitara.” The man said before he sunk his teeth into her throat, slowly feeding off of the warm blood that ran through Luana’s body.

Luana’s head was spinning. She was in the clutches of a vampire, and there was no way she was going to get away. He was feeding off of her blood, and she was to shocked to realize that what he was doing, was going to kill her. She couldn’t utter a single word or eve scream for help. Death was flashing right before her. She had to save Kristin from this monster that was feeding off of her now, but she couldn’t while she was the way she was. Her world began to get dim as darkness started to surround her and soon enough, she was engulfed into darkness and passed out.
****

The last thing that I could remember that night, was waking up for a few moments before death, and seeing a very familiar face. I had seen him before around the Corporation on the top five floors, so I know that he was a Demon Hunter. I couldn’t think of his name, but I do remember him yelling my name and telling me that it was okay. That he would go and take me to the small Hospital in the Smurfit-Stone building.

Like he could save me while I laid there in his arms. I had lost so much blood that there was no chance in him saving me. No one in my situation could ever survive what has happened to me. If anything, the venom, which was burning like fire, in my blood system would kill me before he could even get me to the hospital. I was dead, why wouldn’t he just put me down on the ground and let me die?
