Valentines day. The holiday that was known for bringing lovers together and making them closer then ever. Though, if you were unfortunate enough to not have someone to share this special holiday with, then you were on the complete opposite side. The side that hated the holiday more then anything. Realizing just how alone they truly were from watching everyone around them start partnering up and whispering sweet nothings in each others ears. Three guesses as to what side poor Kurt Hummel seemed to find himself on each and every year.
Kurt sighed, walking through the halls of McKinley high and seeing all the streamers and ribbons that the cheerleaders had hung up for the valentines dance. That dance was going to be taking place two weeks from now, but still everyone insisted on getting the decorations and what-not up earlier then was actually needed. He sighed once more, seeing the large posters that were now plastered next to Mr.Shue's 'Glee Club' ones and wishing in the back of his mind that he could tear them down without anyone being the wiser.
Whatever, so everyone would be groping and pretending to enjoy themselves. Nothing new, right? right.
He nodded to himself, turning the corner and adjusting his bag strap as he then stopped dead in his tracks. His eyes meeting with the figure of a one Samuel Evans and he quickly ducked behind a row of lockers as he watched the jock. Yes, it was a very un Kurt Hummel thing to do. But it seemed that ever since the blond boy had arrived to McKinley high.. he just couldn't seem to get his mind off him. Which was just wrong for so many reasons. The first, being that Sam was currently Quinn Fabrays boyfriend. Thus, proving that he wasn't gay and would never be interested in Kurt the way he seemed to be in him. But still, it didn't hurt to look, right? And the brunette had been just so sure that the jock was on team gay.. that he managed to get his hopes up far more then he should have.
In the end that's all it was. A bunch of wasted hoping as he fell for another straight boy.
He tried not to feel that overwhelming sadness that seemed to spread through him whenever the two teens kissed and he happened to be around to see it. The soprano boy shook his head, determined to get passed this who silly thing and focus on goals that he could actually accomplish. Such as, beating Berry and finally getting a solo for once in his so far wasted high school experience.
The brunette was about to turn on his heel and go, when he heard a familiar voice coming up fast behind him. The same voice that he had been hoping to avoid hearing and swallowing a little harder then normal as he finally turned around to meet the blond's eyes.
