Tinctures

___________________________♥___________________________

Tinctures are almost like little medicinal potions. They aid your body in fighting off illnesses and keeping you healthy.
(note that tinctures are not meant to replace medicine, only to aid your body)

There are many types of tinctures to make, ones that help with digestion, ones that help with cold sores, even ones that help with bad hunger.
Right now I'm just going to explain how to make tinctures, I'll add more detail later.

Step 1. Picking an herb: You may pick a veriety of herbs to make a tincture, I chose marjoram for my first tincture. I believe it helps with digestive issues but I can't remember right now.

Step 2. Pick a base liquid: The base liquid will draw out the medicinal properties of the herb.
2 liquids you can use are 100 proof vodka, or vinegar if you need it to be non-alcoholic.. Just make sure it's the kind you can eat XD.
For my example I'm using vinegar, because I'm not old enough to buy vodka lol.

Step 3. Get a jar that you can use for the tincture:
This can be any jar you want. I prefer to use jelly jars, they're a good size.

Step 4. Put the herb and base liquid into the jar:
I like to fill the jar up 2/3 the way with the herb, and 1/3 of it with the base liquid.
always put the herb in first, then put the liquid on top.
Close the jar tight and put it in a dark area. This is important, it cannot stay in the sun.

Step 5 Leave it there XD:
Leave the tincture there for about 2-3 weeks. Yes it seems like a long time, you may want to make more than one tincture at a time.

Step 6 Seperating the leftover herb and the newly made tincture:
- Get a cheesecloth, or anything you can use as sort of a filter so the herbal bits cannot get through.
- Get a rubber band to put around the jar.
- Put the cloth over the top of the jar with the lid off. Put the rubber band over the cloth to keep it in place.
- Tip the jar over and allow the liquid content to pour into a container/bottle to store the finished tincture in.

The tincture is now finished.

Using the tincture
Take little drops, like 1 or 2, and put it in any drink you want. You won't really be able to taste the liquid and it is perfectly safe.

Note: The tinctures can be a dark murky color, that means it's working.
