Nathaniel Formtwister: Remarks of an Author, Critic, Journalist and Gamer.
The title pretty much summerizes what this journal is about, so no further description needed. Yet.
Please, Let me introduce myself.
Please, Let me introduce myself.

Good day to you all once again, after a month of not publishing a single journal entry I've now decided to post around three entries over the course of the following week and seeing as it is the first post since the introduction I thought it would be polite to begin with introductions.

First and foremost, I would like to clarify that my name is Nathaniel Formtwister. It is a name I chose for myself, my "taken name," as it were, the same way that we all choose to spend our time here under an alias. Some would see this as perculiar, but I believe that it is our usernames which release us of our normal restrictions to correct conduct and protocol when we are conversing with anyone, allowing some to abuse this power and act in ways unsuited to wild boars, let alone humans, but many people that I have met have used this gift to express themselves in a way they would be unable to do in their own society.

Now that we have that out of the way, let us move onto the interesting details. As no doubt some of you have already guessed from the title I have a keen interest writing, specifically works of fiction. Indeed, no doubt a few of you will have been linked to this very article from taking an interest into one of my many roleplay posts scattered about dear Barton Town. I'm currently also writing a few short stories, one of which is nearly finished and I'm planning on uploading onto the web sometime this week.

Time not spent on a computerized device or completing work is often used reading. I started to properly read a fair few years ago now with the first Harry Potter book and haven't stopped since, racing my way through the works of Dahl, Lewis, Shan, Adams, Rowling, Abnett... the list goes on for a fairly long time, but one thing that the books all have in common is that they are all, more or less, tales of fantasy, of mythology and of magicks, worlds that are either so close to our own it's suprising we haven't seen them or worlds so different we wish we had. Either way, tales od magic have and will probably still be a passion of mine to read for a very long time.

On a less literature based note I go onto another passion of mine: Video Gaming. Yes, I am here right now knowing as I type this that many people will have at this point lost interest in this British writer as soon as he mentions the "V G" words, but gaming is such an important part of who I am that it wouldn't be right to not include it. Before I had read the words of Rowling about a certain young wizard I had already been playing games like Tetris and Bonk (for those of you unaware of the latter I would recomend looking him up. He was one of the many gaming heroes who was lost over the years due to the likes of Mario and Sonic.) Yes, I still now recall the time I brought my first own video game ("Pokemon Yellow," for those who are interested) eagerly wanting to rush off home to play it on the Gameboy.

I do however partake in more healther things then sitting around either reading or playing. I am currently training in the art of Taekwondo, a korean martial art which focuses on more kicking based attacks then other disciplines. I also play the clarinet in a concert band and guitar in my free time, the latter not anywhere near as well as the former, but I can peform "Tetris A type" upon an acoustic rather well.

Well, as much fun as it has been to tell the world about myself I am going to bid you all farewell. My next post will either be about roleplaying or my first story, depending on which grabs my attention more this week. Until that time, ¡Adios!
