Welcome to the Morningside!
I like to write - I might write about anything. You'll have to read it to see!
Muffins
I like to cook. Actually, in one of my three personas - I might delve into those later - I'm quite 'housewifey'. I cook, I occasionally clean, and nothing makes me happier, when I'm in this sort of mood, than having a person to pamper and take care of.

So for three days in a row, my family has woken up to breakfast. And I might not be as good at lunch or dinner, but I make a good breakfast. Crepes with strawberry and blackberry sauce and drizzled with chocolate. Pancakes with warm nutella, real maple syrup and fresh strawberries (we've got a lot of strawberries and we're trying to eat them before they go bad) and today, muffins, both plain and chocolate chip.

Looking in the cupboard for muffin cups I found something we haven't had in the house for a while: food colouring. And I remembered being a little kid, when my grandmother would put red food colouring and make pink muffins. Sometimes they would be blue, or orange. And suddenly, I wanted to relive that little piece of my childhood and make pink and blue layered muffins.

So I pull out the food colouring and ask if my dad needs it for anything. He doesn't need it, yet he tells me not to do it because there's no point. I already made a tray of regular muffins because I knew that my mom, dad, and brother would not want coloured muffins. Yet he still insisted that there's no point.

Now, I know I have to listen to and respect my parents, and mostly I do. But I really do feel that if I want to make a tray of chocolate chip muffins that are coloured blue and red, after I've made some for everyone to eat, I should be allowed to do so. Because they're chocolate chip thay'd keep and I'd eat them all within a few days, even if everyone else refused to touch them. Why not?

Also, not overly happy that 'reasonable debate' and 'giving me a chance to explain my reasons' seems to be able to be turned on and off at will, and NOT my will, more and more lately.

So, sir and madam who concieved me, I love you dearly. I do my best to live up (mostly) to what you want me to be and I respect the things you say. However, seeing as it hurts no one and provides me far more joy than it really should, I will colour my ******** muffins however I so choose.

Thank you for letting me whine.
