It has rained for the past two days.
I always catch my self getting lost in the passing storms. The rain is a fresh breath of air for me. Is sends me into an almost...hypnotic state.
Watching as my once dehydrated plants and grass perk up glowing more vigorous from the last couple days of grueling heat. With a brief period of open sky breaks to reveal the setting sun. The dark colors of blues and grays seem enchanting as they blend into the yellows, oranges, and pinks of the light that begs to break through the clouds. A powerful glow of beams set almost perfectly along the deep ridges of the clouds. Only to be barricaded by the next storm. Trapped away until the storm will pass on once more.
But it is the thunder and lighting that I am captivated by the most. As human nature shouldn't I fear it? But I didn't or couldn't. Every strike was like falling in love. My heart raised, goosebumps formed, and a slight anticipation of its next move. I stand outside under the umbrella of our patio furniture. I watched as the lightning struck haphazardly across the sky and to the ground. Each one its own unique way. The way the short periods of blue and white light illuminated the surrounding clouds was breath taking. I still can not recall how long I was there.
