Inside the Mind of the Insane
Stereotypes
Why must people be bound by society and “social norms”? If you wear black, you’re either gothic or emo and most likely worship Satin. If you are small and capable of being quiet, you won’t or can’t stand up for yourself. People assume both these of me. Neither are true.

Why must I follow stereotypes? The world would be boring if everyone fit into a category. Yet, that’s what most people want, because if you’re a specific type of person, you will do specific things. You will be predictable and easy to understand.

From what I’ve seen, that’s what a lot of people want. Where’s the fun in that? If everyone does exactly what they are predicted to do then spontaneous no longer exists. True, most people don’t with this on a grand scale: that every single person on Earth have a stereotype they fit into exactly.

Why then, do so many people wish that of me? Should people who are hard to understand simplify themselves? What about every great novel ever published?

Do people ever think on a scale greater than themselves and the immediate people around them?
