Riku's expression darkened when Walice brought up his dad's aggression. I was no secret that Riku's dad was an alcoholic and liked to take his anger out on Riku, but the gang never really talked about it before. He decided since Walice was a new comer in a way that he'd let that one comment slide. He thought back trying to remember if his dad had been aggressive that morning. "Well, I don't know how aggressive Drenia claims my dad is. But ya, there was the usual one sided fist fight. No big. Nothing major this time." He tried to keep his voice as light hearted as possible. He didn't even wait to see their faces or hear their comments.
He turned and headed for the tree house. Of course, Riku was usually clumsy but, since his anger was flaring, he tripped and fell a lot more than normal. After about thirteen trips and five wipe outs, he finally made it to the tree house. He looked at the rope ladder that they had made. He remembered him and Angel tying the knots to small and everyone yelling at them for it. He smirked at he also remembered Angel and himself trying to climb up the thing. Since Angel had always been sick, he keep coughing and letting go of the rope. Riku just couldn't climb.
He walked around to the other side of the tree and saw the step ladder they had nailed into the trunk of the huge maple tree. He climbed up the makeshift ladder and into the wooden box. He plopped down into the ice blue colored bean bag and laid his head back. "This place brings back such awesome memories."
