Although I am not a fan of Nicolas Cage, this film was surprisingly misleading and with a sorta good ending.
I blame my 12th grade English teacher for how he gave his classes on stories. It made me be more a harsh critic from then on.
I say this because I dislike that some actors do not make an effor in making accents depending on what side of the world or what setting the movie is supposed to be. Take this movie for example, you see many people talking with a British accent, and you see Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman with an American accent. Okay, whatever, we continue with the story of the movie. The previews show you some epic battle, but that is not the crux of the movie...so it was misleading and I liked that! Guide your viewers somewhere else that is not what the preview show.
Okay, then you continue and you are..."well, there are too many people here, and we will start seeing some killings, how? I don't know, want to see, but do it now," which they did.
On their way, with what they say you are already guessing somethings... but how they came to pass... well, I must say, some of the things I did not expected and it was refreshing. So yes, this movie; although not to fulfilling to me, was better than what I originally thought. Besides the point, I wanted to see Ron Perlman in action once again.
Good movie!
